Victoria & Albert Museum
Roll up, roll up! For one night only the V&A will be transformed into a theatrical wonderland. Join us for a celebration of theatre in all its forms, from the London Fringe to West End musicals; new writing to classic Shakespeare.
This exciting, free, drop-in event will feature pop-up performances and promenades throughout the building, including fringe theatre, musicals, puppetry, dance and cabaret.
There will be talks, films, workshops and installations; a theatre bar and ice cream usherettes; a special theatre menu in the Café; and a DJ in the Main Entrance.
On the eve of World Theatre Day (27 March), and just a few weeks after the prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards (13 March), this special Friday Late will bring theatre to the heart of the V&A.
All events are free and no booking is necessary.
Highlights include:

The performance finishes with the world premiere of a new piece by Gabriel Jackson for both choirs, combining English and Latvian text in a unique work written especially for Voices Now. The London Symphony Chorus, with their chorus-master Joseph Cullen, are probably the busiest chorus on the international stage, usually seen performing with the world’s major orchestras and conductors in London, Paris, and New York.
This performance presents a rare chance to hear the 100+ singers of the chorus performing unaccompanied, with music especially written for them, alongside British and American favourites including Jonathan Dove’s The Passing of the Year, Stanford’s Bluebird and Morten Lauridsen’s Midwinter Songs. “The London Symphony Chorus is one of the best in the world…” New York Sun Voices Now is a celebration of all things singing... Some of the best choirs in the world, from the BBC Singers to The Magnets, will come together to perform for the first time on one stage, in one weekend, at London’s legendary Roundhouse.
