Re: The Diary Room
You'll have a wonderful time. I saw it a couple of months ago and it was really good. May have to go again but would need to get special priced tickets.

Re: The Diary Room
hello all! it's been soooooooooooo long! I have missed you all and have spent (too much) time trying to catch up, but there is sooooooooooo much! Have read all of this thread though since it seems to be the best indication of what's going on. so a few random comments based on the last 30 odd pages...
i too need a haircut - not had one since JANUARY and it's crazy long. OH says I'm all hair. I have soooo much hair and it's thick too - hairdresser gets a workout when they do my hair (see MrGlass, I'm doing my bit!)... and I also wouldn't trust it to a trainee as Im too prescious about it. i refuse to but £10 shampoo but wash it every other day and it doesn't fall out (any more than it needs to)... anway, beate won't be happy if I resurrect this conv! oh, one more thing about hair - a_person, I've no doubt yours looks fab - just takes a while to settle...
also, i want to come to all these corp dos! The best ones I get to go to are all a bit 'network-y' but then one of those was on teh terrace of the HoParliament!
Goodness this is a bit long, sorry. just by way of update, I am still jobhunting, but fingers crossed I'll have soemthing lined up next week (cross your fingers for me!). It will involve using my German which is a tad rusty, but it's coming back to me. Perhaps I'll have to track down Beate and bully her into speaking it with me (not likelydon;t worry Beate, I'm too shy...)
and finally, i'm all alone at home as OH has had to go home as his mum isn't well. am on day one of 14 and I miss him already
made progress though as I didn't cry at the airport, which I normally always do, no matter the circumstances!
Phew, so, that's me... will try to be about a bit more now! Oh, and see some films.
PS I want to eat rawr too...

Ahh, that is far. I have tickets for Wall Street in Wimbledon and that film no one wants to go to at the O2, the Ricky Gervais one if you want.

Re: The Diary Room
Ooo spose i might start my 'diary'
well i got my first uni summer project last week! and i sent off the finished results today! will be part of abig exhibition in freshers week :)
ive managed to get ONE box packed, which is good considering i havent a clue! got a basic lamp, washing up liquid, shower gel, teatowels, scissors and a george foreman grill(since im a health freak!) so thats a good starting point :)
found out today that the headline act for our freshers ball is *drum roll* Chase and Status!....needless to say I was extremely disappointed since the closest to DnB I can stand is Pendulum :S
think ill opt for a rock club for the night!
arrrgh haircuts! i havent had one in months :S due mine on thursday next week, 2 days before i go...so it better turn out good! :O
AND surprisingly so close to uni, i was actually thinking that maybe i wasnt going down the right career path
cause i suddenly decided that my drawing is rubbish and wouldnt be able to make anything of myself D:
and then by some extremely weird off chance, a guy ive been talking to, told me about his friend whos a writer, i was immediately interested cause I love my reading! :))
then he told me shed done a childrens book, was looking for an illustrator and strangely had asked ME to illustrate it oO
im promised 10% of the profits and shes already got a hold of a publisher
bit scared! :O
been designing the characters all week :) made me well chuffed! reckon its a sign or something, telling me not to quit!
:)
ooooi! no ones eating me!
x

Re: The Diary Room
HOW EXCITING RAWR! You could be a published illustrator before you're even out of uni!
Well done, a bit pat on the back for you and PROOF that you need to keep it going! You can till write on the side if you want to - perhaps one of your modules or later a writing class in the evening or even just attend events at Waterstones or something similar when a writer does a Q&A...
Who says you can't have your (cookie monster cup) cake and eat it?!
