Just an update on my run today:
Well, I'm on the train back, so hectic and rushed, my friends are literally scratching their heads wondering how the hell do I intend to become a personal trainer, all stressed out juggling between getting exam revision done (which was none in effect), socialise with them (very little), staying back to spend time with my asthma uk team (a little), and running around like a headless chicken (a lot) - I think next time I will dress up as that bright yellow chicken which you all seem to have much affection for! Cant wait to see the famous chicken on the BBC recordings at home.
a_person, I cant see the youtube vid as the train wireless hotspot restrict access to video streaming but I am chuffed you sang for me, girl

Though serenating usually works the other way, lol.
Sorry to everyone who tried to track me online and found difficulty. What happened was this, I was placed right at the end of the 57000 runners taking part! So it took me around 30-45 mins after the official start to walk to the start line and start running! I wouldnt switch the tracker on until I start running.
And the reason I was placed at the back was because when I first applied I had put down that I expect to finish 3-4 hours being the rather fatter person that I was at the time!
I can see Newcastle is a terrific city, such a shame I couldnt explore it, but I did get a taste of its nightlife as I arrive late at night yesterday and as I stepped out the station I walked a bit down to the town centre to stretch my legs a bit before catching a cab to my hotel. I think it was students fresher week or something as the central town was swarming with night clubbers on the streets, all the girls were wearing...strike that word, spotted with bits of material here and there...not sure what the guys were wearing but those that did caught my attention were a litlle bloodied, drunk and being excorted by policemen....welcome to Newcastle! So much action and hypnotic visuals.
The race itself was brilliant. In the morning, it was raining heavily and I thought OH NO!! I do struggle to run in the rain! But thankfully by the time the race began, the rain stopped, and once the race was finished, it started again, lol! The rain gods must be an avid marathon viewer fan. I never really could get a proper running rhythm as the crowd was so dense most of the way and I was running side to side weaving in and out of other runners but that didnt matter, really, as the atmosphere was electric and it never escaped my thought that here I am, finally reaching an important goal in my life which many of you helped me journey to!
The red arrow display was pretty cool, glad they didnt do anything ambitious though over the runners! The elvis impersonator was pretty impressive and even had me upping the pace as he was singing burning love. Some live rock bands enroute upped our tempo too.
I had a scare though as I kept going on the pavement and jumping back onto road to overtake others and started to feel my old heel injury resurfacing, so I had to hold back and take it easy and avoid stepping on off the pvements, thankfully it subsided later. Then my shoe laces came undone, despite my rituals of triple knotting them every time I do a run! And then the collision with the other runner who was overtaking me and knocked my phone off my hand. SPLATTER! No, not me, my phone. It was all over the place! The runner just ran on and didnt say sorry or anything (time to use the a_person hard slapping special icon). Took me a couple minutes to find all 3 pieces (the battery, main body and back cover). I was upset at that point as I knew some of you would be tracking me and was feeling I let you down but of course the main thing was finish the race. So having been using the techy phone to track my own progress, broadcast it and listen to music occasionally, I found myself having to run old school....no technology, just run run run like there's no tomorrow and do my best for everyone. And you know what, that was the best of part of my run!
Of course as I crossed the finish line, I was...tranquil rather surprisingy...the moment of its importance sort of brewed like the best cuppa tea and then it overwhelmed me as I pick up my finish kit and found the finish medal inside... as my phone was broken up with a temperamental connection, I had no idea where my mates were so I just went to my asthma UK meeting marque where they had food buffet, and body massages, nice! Then I took me about 3 hours to get back to the hotel then rushed to have dinner with my friends at a Thai restaurant only to realise I'm supposed to check out at 6pm, so had to abandon them halfway through my Tum Yum soup (love that dish, try it...you have my approval

and rushed back to the hotel, and then realised I might miss the train too....
OK, I should be revising for my exam in the morning now...to be honest, this is the bad news, I havent learn enough to be confident in passing it...this run had to be priority really, as I can always retake my exams at a later date. But I will try my utmost to pass! Its another landmark after all, I just shouldnt have squeezed it all in at the same time and so condensed.
right , I think I have hijacked this thread a bit too much! Must get to my revision, still another 3 hours on the train left...for someone who says I won be posting here much for the next six weeks, its clearly evident that I'm an absolute liar.
Again thank you all for your support...it was very special to me.
