The exchange student has arrived and is adorable, she's seems happy with what I've fed her so far. Are all Germans lovely? All the ones I've met are and the one's I haven't ;)

Love the shoes Sydney_Bristow , shame I walk like Dick Emery in heels  - I think I walk too fast!

Oh trust me there are lots of annoying Germans, just like in any other nation. On the whole we are an agreeable bunch though. John always marvels at the friendliness of German shopkeepers, but I think they just adore him for being English and still trying hard to speak the lingo.

I used to visit Munich often for work and I loved it there, always enjoyed the hospitality of locals but one thing I have to say...they have the strongest bloody handshake in the world, and not just the men, even the girls would break my index & little finger and I would just grit it out trying to match their strength and as they were long handshakes, endurance too! DOnt know if Beate would vouch for me on that...?

Have just had my ballot papers for the Mayor of Tower Hamlets Election hand-delivered - I know NOTHING about the 5 people on the ballot paper!

I just had someone come knock on the door to ask whether we'd be voting for Labour. My Mum was like " :shifty: errrrr not really. :red: " The lady said "you do realise you get two votes, right, will you consider making it your second vote?" My mum, " noooo....but I know some of the others in my family will vote Labour." To which I was like, :nono: not on this occasion, not that arsehole. :nono:

Well at least they are canvassing at your end. We never have anyone knocking on the door!

Actually today is the first anyone knocked on the door. Even I thought the canvassing has been pretty dry this year. I think they are targetting particular areas that they know will be voting. Anywhere the area where you live is known to not have many canvassers around, I have no idea why.

aha atleast youve got campaigners that will physically knock on your door to be noticed! during my time off, leading up to uni, guaranteed each month someone running for the local area would call and ask me if i would be voting for them..... lazy gits!
