Me too and i can't wait as its my first time at an opening night We'll have a starry carpet with all the excited eyes of the fans seeing it for the first time, i'm sure there will be quite a buzz. Just got tickets today and the ticket seller suggested being there 45 mins beforehand, there is 5 of us going and i'd hate it if we didn't get seats together.

I am part of the 0.5% that doesn't know the story hence appreciate the spoilers and i agree with everything you said Glassy.

I've never been to a midnight screening but I'm betting the atmosphere will be totally different to the free one as it'll be mainly the "hardcore" fans who'll be going and they might actually react to the film unlike the people who were sat near me last week.

Oh you dont even have to bet on it, its guaranteed. I have been to countless midnight releases, not just starwars/star trek films but Bond movies, Batman, and other fan based franchise. Anyone watching a midnight release will be a fan and there is something about the midnight hour that brings out the "AlRIGHT, BRING IT ON" in you. If Beate attended such a show, she will have a heart attack. Its noisy but in a great way And the cheers will be drowning as the film certificate appears. It will be electric, you are going to have a great time. I imagine many will be dressing up in costumes too.

I'm hoping to see a few wizards and voldemorts, I'll wear all black and paint some stars on my cheeks I really hope they start cheering, i miss clapping and cheering when the movie starts in these 'too cool for school' days.

Sounds like absolute hell.

For me, enjoying a film means you are wrapped up in it and don't make a sound. People whooping and cheering imo are more interested in themselves than enjoying the film. It reminds me of mates going to gigs, getting drunk and spending all the time taking pics of each other hehe

at the IMAX potterthon, (which was rather good, Hogwarts massivo, its like being there), fans cheered and applauded the end of each movie even though they have probably seen them all several times already. it really made it feel like the right atmosphere (plus the costumes in abundance of course helped). only problem being, you wanted to nap at the end of each movie in the thon, made impossible by the applause and the film music which set your adrenaline running and kept you wide awake.

I'd prefer fans tbh. i wonder if there will be costumes on thursday night.

they were suprisingly quiet, the fans at tha BFI, Val. Apart from the odd ' ITS AN EGG!' *Chortlechortle* during Chamber or Prisoner of Afghanistan, one of the two i cant remember.

I'll be seeing it again in proper 2D with brighter contrast than the horrid 3D projections on Friday. Even though I actually watched the preview in 2D with my 3D to 2D conversion glasses, it couldnt eliminate the darker image problem.
