I love mulled wine! Glad you had a good time Beate. I declined the invite, as unfortunately, too busy! :|

What a fabulous night I had, thanks to tilly's posts in freebies. o/

Went to the VIP Launch Party at Slug and Lettuce, Hanover Street branch, and a chance to win a diamond worth £500. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly cava at the bottom of which was taped a diamond, which we took to the man with the diamond knowledge, who checked with his loupe to see if it was the winning one or one that was a cubic zirconia worth about £2-£8. I managed to get two glass of bubbly each for me and my OH, so we had four chances, but alas we did not win.

We also had two sessions of making cocktails, one mojitos and the other margaritas. This was really fun and the cocktails seems to taste just as good as if they were made by the barman! Then we were treated to two tastings of Magners, one with peach and ginger and one with apple and honey. In between all this we were were given a huge sharing platter - supposed to be for four but there were only two of us, filled with ribs, chicken, mushrooms, potato wedges, onion rings, and long sticks of garlic bread and two dips. I hardly touched it, well had a taste of each, as we had booked the other freebie at La Tasca a while ago, their five dishes xmas tasting menu, so off we went to that, it was ideal as it was only 10 minutes walk away.

We had four dishes and a dessert to taste. Spanish style turkey with pork and cranberry fruit stuffing, catalan style sausages, creamy seafood stew with salmon, white fish, king prawns and mussels in white wine sauce, seasonal vegetables and for dessert, Spanish style churros, marshmallows and strawberries with hot thick chocolate to dip it all in, so yummy!

I am definitely stuffed tonight! :shifty:

My God, there must have been hundreds of people at the Tower of London Pavilion tonight, you couldn't move for people after a while. The canape waitresses still got through thank God (we had positioned us near the kitchen anyway). Lovely drink, lovely food, rounded off by a chocolate fountain.
