Something different tonight: BookSlam

Book Slam is the UK’s best-known, best-regarded, best-attended and, frankly, best regular literary event.

Founded by award-winning author, Patrick Neate, and acclaimed musician, Ben Watt (Everything But The Girl), in 2003, it welcomes authors, poets, singer-songwriters and comedians to a thinking person’s cabaret

In the last seven years, Book Slam has welcomed everyone from Adele to Zadie Smith; winners of Grammys, Emmys, Perriers and BAFTAS; the Booker, Orange, Costa, and Forward prizes (a full list of ‘alumni’ can be found at www.bookslam.com).

Playing monthly to a broad audience Book Slam has unparalleled kudos among publishers, booksellers and mainstream media. Time out describes Book Slam as ‘pretty much unmissable’. Iconic author William Boyd recommends Book Slam as ‘a unique and wonderful literary occasion.’

Get free tickets to The Naked Truth-Edin Fest Theatre TONIGHT!

http://www.showfilmfirst.com/pin/663450

You can claim up to 4 free tickets for this show for tonight (8pm to 10.30pm). It is very funny and quite vulgar - ideal for a girlie night out. The show is about 6 lassies who go to a pole dancing class then decide to raise funds for Cancer Research. They want folk to give them a donation for cancer research in lieu of payment.

Be the first to hear Jeffery Deaver, international best-selling thriller writer, talk about his new James
Bond novel, Carte Blanche, at this special publication day event, on 26th May. He will be discussing with Michael
Binyon, foreign policy specialist at The Times, the influence that Ian Fleming had on his work - he had read all of the 007 novels by the time he was 11 - and the world of espionage and intrigue. There will be a Q&A and a book signing.
