Would you like to come to a fashionable drinks reception with us to celebrate London Fashion Week?

We’re giving away 25 pairs of tickets to this party at Hub Culture, a groovy network with a pavilion just off Carnaby Street, on Tuesday night. There’s no pressure to wear haute couture, dress like a hipster or don black tie – but apparently androgyny is the keyword for SS/12. We’ll leave the dressing decisions to you. This should be a relaxed and groovy, stylish affair with DJ James Pople, black and white cocktails and some shots of the hottest looks from the Fashion Week catwalks to inspire you.

To count yourself in, simply email hello@londonist.com with ‘I’ll come to a fashionable drinks reception with you’ in the subject line. The first 25 get on the guestlist.

One for you Tilly! o/

A launch event … (mostly) for the kids!
Check Out Pippa’s Poppets New Venues in Chelsea and Knightsbridge

Spend a morning with your little ones; join in music, instruments, movement and singing while chatting with bloggers, noshing cupcakes, drinking tea, coffee and fizz!

Come meet Pippa Cleary, founder of Pippa’s Poppets, an award winning composer who captivates young and old alike. Enjoy a taster session which Pippa will adapt to the mixture of ages in the group at hand, experience with your kids her delightful approach to teaching music to the very young.

Pippa is also an award-winning composer and singer, having written songs for CBeebies, National Youth Theatre, Stagecoach and the Polka Theatre. Nearly all the music is written by Pippa: it’s original, its independent, its for babies, its for toddlers, its for young children and its for mum, dads and carers. A great time for all.

Begun in a flat in Pimlico last year, Pippa now has four venues due to her overwhelming popularity with children and parents.

This is the third invitation I am getting today for an event on the 5th October and I thought I'll post this one here as it isn't strictly for PAs or event organisers and the like:

The Future Laboratory – The smell of sugar is in the air at The Future Laboratory. And chocolate. And something else… is that raspberry?

We’re getting ready for the opening of Sweet Shoppe, an appointment-only experience that will be on-site at The Future Laboratory from 19 to 30 September, during London Design Festival. Visitors to Sweet Shoppe will experience what retail will be like for the consumers of the future – who will have no recollection of life without the internet, will not distinguish between the real and digital worlds, and will seek experiences that seamlessly integrate the online and the offline.

Sweet Shoppe is being created by The Future Laboratory and award-winning retail design agency Campaign, which develops integrated brand experiences through interior, brand and digital design.

If you are lucky enough to book an appointment with the Shoppe-keeper, he will take you on a journey that combines the personalisation, recognition and recommendations of online retailing with the best of real-world retail: tactility, conviviality, intimacy and serendipity.

We’re working with our partners Sign Salad, Holition and A* Food Design to make Sweet Shoppe the only opportunity you’ll have this year to see, smell, touch and taste the retail experience of the future. Sweet.

Visits to Sweet Shoppe at The Future Laboratory, 24 Elder Street, London E1 6BT are by appointment only between 19 and 30 September 2011.

Book your appointment with the Shoppe-keeper by emailing shoppekeeper@thefuturelaboratory.com or calling +44 (0)20 7186 0770.

Red Bull Revolutions In Sound

Red Bull Music Academy is taking over the EDF Energy London Eye to present Revolutions In Sound, the world's first music festival in the sky, and there are 3 ways for you to get involved:

Tickets:

Tickets for the capsules and silent disco will be free and available to the public (subject to availability) via this website from 10am Thursday 22nd September 2011.

Listen online:

In what will be one of the EDF Energy London Eye's most ambitious events to date, audio from each of the 30 gigs will be streamed live on the web. So, even if you're not lucky enough to be there you can tune in and take your pick of the action on the Red Bull Music Academy website.
