hAHA, Beate this is cracking me up. This one sums up pretty much what we get in the cinema:

There is always some misbehaving nitwit in every show: fortunately or unfortunately I expect it these days. The baby who cried through at least twenty minutes of Sister Act before Palladium staff finally intervened. The constant rustling of crisp packets and plastic bags from a family at Legally Blonde. The man who received at least three phone calls in the second half of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, shouting down his phone at whoever he was talking to each time. The woman in the audience at Enron who took it upon herself before the show to read aloud at the very top of her lungs the glossary in the programme explaining financial services industry terminology, as if nobody else at that matinee was literate.

I was at Sunset Boulevard at the Comedy early in 2009 when a man in the second or third row as I recall turned to some woman behind him, shouting, "I pa*d to watch them perform, not to listen to you yakking!" At Les Miserables one Saturday at virtually every poignant moment, there was a big intake of milkshake of some sort. "Listen everybody, General Lamarque is dead!" *SLURP*. "She will not die in vain / She will not be betrayed." *SLURP* The stage revolves to show the deaths at the barricade. *SLURP*. Highly inappropriate.

It is completely unacceptable: if I wanted to have an animated conversation with someone I could have one for free without having to p*y for theatre seats (some of which are can be terribly uncomfortable). Clearly there are people out there with more money than sense.

One more, if you can bear it: a young couple discussing loudly how to work the lady's cameraphone. They wanted to take photographs during Wicked. Eurgh.

Cor blimey, we all faced one of these idiots either in a cinema or theatre. Reminds me of the time that couple b*ght there baby in who wouldn't shut the f*ck up and then the father had the audacity to give me an angry look because I got annoyed??

I understand these people's pain......

Yeah but some of them are right snobs saying they would expect behaviour like this in a cinema but not in the theatre because people pa*d good money there - they simply don't understand that it's exactly the hefty price tag that makes people think even more that they can do what they want as they shelled out all this money to have a good time. I mean when have you last had a physical fight and projectile vomiting in the cinema?

Or if they don’t kick your chair they cross their legs over and you get one foot just about head level at the side of you.
We’ve taken to getting to film viewings early just so that we can bag the back row to prevent chair kicking and
smelly feet near your face.

How gross is that? At Westfield I make sure I sit on the sides away from the central area where most sit. I see them in the premier seats with skanky feet out and want to be sick

Can't you say something loudly like 'please remove your feet from my seat, as they smell'... I'm sure they'd be embarrassed!
