Can't you say something loudly like 'please remove your feet from my seat, as they smell'... I'm sure they'd be embarrassed!

I've had this issue several times so I know what you are talking it. It really is frustrating and you could strangle the person doing it. I've asked people in the past to move their feet because I don't appreciate it being in my face.
