I loved the premiere footage, when they were talking to AlanRickman you could here " Snape...Snape....Serverus Snape...Snape...Snape" in the background! :D

just seen Part 1 properly which answers a lot of questions for me.

If someone can explain to me how Harry happened on a random jaunt to come across (or to the vicinity of) the very lake where snape hid the vorpel sword, I still cant work that one out. Theres a lot of other nonsense scenes (eg Harry gets into a frozen lake DOH!! or why do they bother wearnig the horcrux if it makes them angry? just carry it in a bag, you thick meatheads) but I think they are simply genuine bad writing so I wont ask about them, its this one, a plot crux, that is bothering me.

All in all part 1 makes a lot more sense having seen all the other films. Though its clearly a bad film, its not a terrible watch now that things are coming together in my mind concerning the story. Its more of a slow painful Christian climb towards the real meat that awaits in Part 2.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

It's not random or coincidence. The answer is sort of revealed in part 2.
In the book, there is a painting in Hermione's magically expanded bag that is used as a go-between from the exiled trio to another painting in Dumbledore's office at Hogwarts. The person in the painting (who can move between portraits) overhears Hermione mention their location which is reported back to Snape who plants the sword in the lake with the intention for Harry to find it (as per Dumbledore's instructions).
I admire your perseverence and patience of watching this series despite your criticisms!

How harry comes by the sword and how the sword gets there is explained very briefly in part 2 (blink or you'll miss it) so p*y attention when you see it! It is of course fully explained in the book.

thank you guys, I will watch out for that explanation. Its worth it seeing as its all ending anyway, I dont want to miss out.

Yes, I had to see 1 again, else 2 would have left too many loose ends and questions.

Also saw Phoenix again this week. This still remains my favourite but the ending isnt quite as good as I thought it was. The wizard duel is over in a minute, which is a bit sad, but I guess thats budget limitation, and its still perfectly executed. Apart from the stupid prophecy (frankly, I could deck voldermort, i dont need to leave it to harry) this is the real meal deal of the series so far.

Luna is my favourite character but the best child actor has to be tom felton. Thouhg he got way too old to play a teen when he started balding and should really have been recast, he was still marvelous as a young Malfolio. He just breathes sinister! He was the only one who could act 'properly' in the early films. He would also make a fine replacement forthe ageing current James Bond.

I think considering the whole series, hats off goes to Richard Harris as Dumbledor, that was a stroke of genius creating the reticent-seeming old wizard, no one else got close to his genius recreation of Rowlings most fascinating character by far.

OK, I am just planning to see HP again with friends in 2D. I was looking at the listing at Vue Shepherds Bush. It lists 3 different versions. A 3D version. A normal 2D version. And an Over 18 version! Now I imagine that means its a screening for adults only to avoid noisy children right? Just like to know as I dont think I have come across this sort of differentiation before.

Im assuming it would be to avoid noisy children, either that OR, they cut out the one scene with swearing but include it in the over 18 version :shifty: which I doubt, but it wouldnt surprise me these days!

What scene was that? remind me? Was it uttered by Ron?! Hope so because that's what Ron is supposed to be, foul mouthed!
