Good on you Alsinging, do some short easy jogs first. Then build your intensity week by week. Try a program from here: http://www.taketothestreets.org/ Or there are plenty of other sites too.

Allsinging, and those of you going for regular outdoor (or even treadmill) running, I highly recommend wear proper running shoes.

I used to get sores and shin splints and knee tinges before, wearing just normal Nike trainers but then I b*ght myself a proper pair of running shoes from a running shop that analysed my feet and running style. Since then I suffered no such issues and my runs feel so much more enjoyable. You can go to a running store specialist that can give you the right shoe for your feet. Look on the web first and see if there are any special discounts because they dont often give it in the shop but if you bring a printout then you get the discount. I got a free visible running jacket from UpandRunning.com worth £45 when I b*ght mine.

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

Allsinging, great program plan! Time your jogs, and I'll enter your progress on the sheet too. I also increased your target rate per fortnight by half a pound so you can reach your target by 31st Aug and with your program plan, you can do it.

And yeah sorry JMD, 10.5 stones was a tad ambitious, lol. I readjusted your entry to a slightly more managable target ;-)

Bevvy, and anyone else working/living in East London or North London, just saw this deal for a 3hr Spa session for a tenner (£11.50 off) if any of you interested. Deal expires in 3 months but you have to b*y it within 12 hours.

It sounds wonderful and the refurbished York Hall is supposed to be really nice but, tempting though it is, I shouldnt really be spending my time sitting around in saunas and steam rooms etc. As I said before, I need to get back to using the gym.
I blame all these free films - I don't seem to have any free evenings to go there anymore. It is months since I was free to go to my thursday night aquafit class !

Well the thought was, after a fortnight program of training and weight loss, you can reward yourselves with the spa treatment ;-)

Im trying to lose weight and get fitter, my BMI is totally out of order!!

I came across this tool recently and so far it s been quite useful as you can set goals and track your progress and best of all its FREE.

Welcome Tilly! You know what, I've explored several Food Calorie sites and exercise diary sites but I never came across a site that integrated both effectively. I never heard of foodfocus.co.uk and after a quick view of its tour feature, I'm impressed! It certainly seems the best all round tool yet. I wont be using it for my own needs as the tools I use are sufficient for me but I will explore the site further and maybe add it to my current tools.

Excellent recommendation, Tilly. And well done for taking the weight loss journey! For extra motivation would you like to join our fortnightly progress group? Its only £49.99 per week...no just kidding. I just add you on our progress sheet and publish it every 2 weeks on this thread to see how much progress everyone makes in reaching their target ;)

That looks good tilly. I especially like the 'when do you consume your calories?' feature so show me where I go so horribly wrong! :-)

Hi TheyCallMeMrGlass and jmd1983,

Thanks for the warm welcome, I assume by Tilly you meant me though :)

Yes please add me to the progress sheet, I think the public humiliation of not reaching my targets will motivate to work even harder towards them, thanks :)
