December is the month of overindulging and January is my busiest time at work, so I've not been good recently. Am trying to reign it in gradually and properly get back on the healthy wagon in February so when I meet Diane in April, I don't look like a blimp! :p

My biggest struggle is what to eat come late afternoon/early evening - I often go straight to shows from work so have dinner late. I think that's what derails me - it's easy being good at breakfast and lunch, it's the rest of the day that throws me!

Really tempted by an exercise bike, even though I don't have the room - because at least then you can do stuff as well as work out. Terrified of the gym - in my head it is full of skinny people. In reality, I suspect it is as well...

If you know you are going to a show could you prepare something healthy the day before and take with you to work for dinner and have it before you leave, no need for snacking then, or take a healthy snack with you.

My excuse with the gym is that I just don't have time to fit it in. I just know I would start off with the best intentions but kids, shift work, previews, life in general..... leaves me with precious little time anyway, so I know it would be the thing that gets the chop from the schedule.

So I try and do the bike most days, always take stairs instead of elevators/lifts if possible, time allowing walk the school run or to the shops etc & if there is some spare time take kids to park or the woods.

Still loving My Fitness Pal really makes you focus on what you are actually eating. I only weigh myself once a week at work, tonight's the night :cross: all the effort this week has been worth it!

Keep at it, let us know how you get on...inspires us.

My aim is 1 lb a week, and that seems to work for me.

Lidls Cereal for breakfast, then
Been out this lunch time and had a cheese jacket potato and a diet coke...just entered it all on MFP and please to see I have about 500 cals left for the day.

It does focus your mind on how much you are eating.

Just had my dinner before work & I am -9 now but have been slightly under for past few days so should balance itself out. I aiming at 1lb a week too, do you log your drinks on MFP too? Was surprised how quickly they eat into your allowance (ie juice & tea with milk). My friend is doing MFP too it gave her 600 more calories a day than me though!

I only drink calorie free drinks (well almost) black coffee and water plus teetotal so I can have all my calories as food. I too am aiming for a lb a week so hopefully 6 weeks and I should be there :cross:

:giggle: you don't look like a blimp. I too am on the bandwagon ready for the April get together :shifty: We will all look so hot by then ;) (I've never looked hot in my life). I just do the walks and DVD's as nowhere to put an exercise bike.

Me too. I love my food, must prioritise calories. :giggle: Swapping my cappuccino for a black coffee was easy.

Fruit juice is also surprisingly high, you're better off eating actual fruit. Frozen berries are really cheap and taste good all year round.

I've just got some frozen raspberries which I use in my breakfast smoothie they were only £2 and have done 6 smoothies, I put loads in so it counts as a portion of fruit plus as I have a banana and milk with it that's my 2 fruit portions sorted plus 1 of my 2 dairy per day (have to watch my bones as getting to a certain age ).

I can't live without tea I'm afraid, need at least 2 mugs before I can function in morning, they are not too bad 17 calories per drink, but I must track it as the amount I drink soon adds up. I had a glass of OJ today then looked at the calories 110, was quite surprised. Will be passing on the latte's from now on though. 1220 really doesn't go very far!
