What's this about possibly returning on Wednesday? I could do Wednesday! Did you have to put your name down or something or can you just turn up with today's printout?

Saw this at Odeon Whitleys.
I liked the film and the performances i thought were all excellent.
Overall i thought the film felt a bit too cheesy and i wasn't a fan of the Tom Hardy characters iraq war past, it seems that so many films these days think that if they're in america they need to have some form of Iraq war connection, i sisnt think it needed to be in.
Otherwise it was an interesting watch for the performances

Beate, I'm not sure how you can return on Wednesday - I took the guest pass so I can return at my leisure, but they did take a group of people who said they could return on Wednesday and I think they issued them with the tickets as it is a pa*d for preview - if they didn't allocate the tickets then there were concerns that it would be sold out.

I doubt you can return with the print out from today, they took all those in and did not return them, as far as I saw and I was one of the last people to be sorted out as I insisted on getting the general guest pass - something that I think they were trying to avoid giving out as they really wanted people to just watch another film today or return on Wednesday.

Perhaps another forum member who actually took the Wednesday option could 100% confirm either way?

Saw this tonight at Glasgow Quay. The first of the Royal Banks foray into free previews, it was showing at virtually all cinemas in Scotland. Maybe this meant there are more cinema seats than population in this country as the screen was more than half empty....
Film was fine, well performed and choreographed but the ending really let it down. From this and other understated performances, I would cast Tom Hardy as Jack Reacher instead of the wee man Cruise, even if he's hardly a giant either - he has enigmatic down pat.Probably just me....

Saw this at Whiteleys. A dodgy start as I was mistakenly directed to Screen 8 and the credits started to open for Jane Eyre. I smelt a rat when there were only 10 people and kicked off early at 6.15. Still no harm as I legged it to Screen 7...

The film was Ok'ish. I think the challenge with sport themed movies (esp boxing) is the need to empathise with the characters as they go through the motions, and I just didn't get that at all with either brother. When that happened, and although the performances were great, I just didn't care who won and unfortunately the whole thing dragged. It was far too long as well.

Agreed. I liked the performances but found it difficult to b*y into this cliche ridden melodrama. Felt that the Iraq war hero angle was to create maximum sympathy for Tommy, ditto with Brendan's character - popular high school physics teacher facing with foreclosure.
I prefer my fight movies with a definite underdog to root for and a villain to boo. With two underdogs in the final fight - who in heck are you gonna root for? The ending was just disappointing.
