Very doubtful

Saw this in Birmingham last night. Was quite full. Thought it was very similar to the previous film. Quite enjoyed it.

I was just about to cancel my footloose ticket for monday when I noticed the time on it says 20:30 and then went to check the code and the first code gives 20:30 tickets and the second one gives 18:30 so looks like two screenings in one night at the same cinema http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14100
(that's when I found the new tickets for 9th on the code for my recent FF posting)

Just seen this at a pretty packed Wimbledon screening. I loved it! Very upbeat, a great start to the day! :)

Saw this is Sheffield this morning and really enjoyed it. Now about to go in to Othello at the crucible with Dominic West and Clarke Peters. What a day.

I surprisingly enjoyed this this morning. A pleasing, but unnecessary remake/update. Good that it wasn't just identical. Enjoyed the differences with the music being C&W.

Tell you what though - I was getting well irritaed by the bootlid/engine cover on Ren's Beetle. One minute it was there the next it wasn't - even in a single journey! Continuity.....ooops!

A safe 6/10 and a good wet Saturday morning movie.

Corny, cliched & predictable with a consistently clunky script but also oddly enjoyable and good fun. Footloose is an entirely unnecessary remake with it's fair share of cringeworthy moments but overall I liked it. Admittedly time hasn't been exactly kind to the fairly implausible plot device of a town banning dancing (It was far-fetched in the 80's and even more so now) but that doesn't matter too much.
Kenny Wormald is a likeable replacement for Kevin Bacon and Julianne Hough is at least more attractive than Lori Singer. Miles Teller is also good as the best friend Willard (his dance practice montage is the best part of the film). The adults are fine. Dennis Quaid is on solid if unspectacular form and Deadwood's Ray McKinnon is excellent value as Ren's uncle. Rather worryingly though a couple of well-established actresses are completely wasted. Both Andie McDowall and Kim Dickens as the previously mentioned actor's wives are absent for quite long stretches of the film (especially Dickens) and are only given a couple of significant scenes.
Footloose is, admittedly,a fairly pointless remake but it's confidently directed by Craig Brewer and an enjoyable enough way of wasting a couple of hours.

Silly but quite enjoyable. Go in with low expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised.

That worked with me, I thought it was going to be awful after what people had been saying, but did enjoyed it (even shed a few tears) :D
