Met up with Yinster at Glasgow Showcase (unplanned, though they kept me a seat as they were 1st in queue :star: ).
Great to be introduced by Yinster to stuartboy, another Fmuker!

Thought film was very good though I do think that young children would struggle a little, possibly best for 7 year olds + (that definitely includes me!)
I did find the animation slightly strange at 1st, almost a bit spooky! Story was all action and kept me rivetted to the screen. Delighted to see that good triumphed(as always!) and there will definitely be another film.

Marks 9/10 :star:
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Saw the film in Leeds tonight in a cinema about 60% full. The man who introduced the film said that we were the first people in the world to see the English version, needless to say I didn't believe him. The security was a little over the top, but maybe justified.

Really enjoyed the film in a nostalgic way but I am not sure that it will appeal to a young generation.

Blistering barnacles! Absolutely totally loved this. What an amazing film. I'm still struggling to determine whether this was real, animated, cgi or a combination of both. It really seemed like the cartoon had come to life. I did struggle to identify the actors playing each part though. (Mind you I also though Andy Serkis in Planet of the Apes was inside the monkey suit! Lol.
Stunning animation and visuals. Plenty going on and lots to see. Very funny too in a Tom and Jerry way.

Is it just me wondering why Cap'n Haddock was Scottish or has he always been so? Either way that worked perfectly anyway.

Definitley a 9/10

Nice to see MGellatly and Yinster too.

Saw this at Liverpool Showcase last night, haven't been to that cinema in years. There was already a massive queue when we arrived at 6.30 and was slightly concerned that we might be turned away. Needn't have worried though as we were directed to the biggest screening room I have ever seen, it was like sitting in a huge assembly hall. Film started late at 7.15 as they were trying to get everyone in, lots of 'men in suits' in attendance but suprisingly no bag checks, just asked to turn off mobiles. There were problems with the lights at the start of the film, which had to be manually switched off about 5 minutes into the film, so missed some of the opening sequences due to distraction.

I found the film itself to be much better than i had expected. The action- packed story was quite funny in parts and I was intrigued by the motion capture performances. Some of those scenes looked so like real people. The scenes in Morrocco reminded me of something that Indiana Jones might of done. Didn't think that the 3D was neccessary though, film would work just as good in 2D.

I too was at the Showcase Liverpool last night (soz I didn't see you Jordsmum, but that cavernous screening must've held 500+)
I arrived at 6.25 and there were already about 50 ahead of me in the queue!

The film itself was an absolute marvel, the effects were fantastic, they really have raised the bar with this one. Apart from a couple of moments, the 3d was rather redundant, but it wasn't a distraction like it can be in some films!
I wasn't that interested in the Tintin cartoons as a kid, but I'm really looking forward to the next film now at my ripe old age!

Saw this in Coventry last night. Was better than I expected. Enjoyed the chase scene. Not too sure why it needed to be in 3D though.

On Sunday at 5.30pm, the hashtag #TintinPremiereLive will magically turn into a link letting you stream coverage of the premiere in Twitter!

I assumed the sky screening at the 02 was at the same time as the premiere (like for Harry Potter) but I guess it is before?

Would agree with the 3D comment. I did remove my glasses a few times and couldn't see huge change (apart from the blur!).
I also didn't notice much of the film which relied on the 3D effect to thrill the audience. It's a shame that people are having to p*y so much extra for 3D and not really getting much for it. Showcase extras (if p*ying) were £2 for film and £1 for glasses which adds up to a lot extra for a family.
