After reading everyone's reviews, I feel like I was in a parallel world but without the stars! :D When I came out of our screening, the O2 was opened for business as usual, no signs of any red carpet or barriers, people were queuing up for tickets and popcorn. Even the StreetDance boarding at the top of the escalators had been removed.

Saw this in Glasgow Baillieston minus Yinster and OH  . . . I did text to say that there were people sitting in their seats! :nono:
I do think the film was not really a film and certainly not a 3D film!
There was a VERY limited story with predictable ending. Acting was wooden from George Sampson. :monkey:
As stuartboy said, have things become so bad (financially) for Tom Conti that he HAD to take a part in this? 8O
I'm sure individually the dancers were great BUT what was shown of their talent was sad! :tears:

I would have been happier to watch a film of a Diversity concert or even the Britain's Got Talent final which they won! :star:

Seen this in Nant Garw with a 90% full attendance. OH's review, what a load of rubbish 0/10

I didn't have high expectations and I think that allowed the film to grow on me. Yes the 3D was not needed and gimicky for most of the time and acting was a bit hit and miss but the dancing was good. What accent was Tom using? Shirley not French?

I had to stay behind at the end of the film to have a quick look at the music credits, as I was having my own 'seat dance' which would have probably been annoying to the people behind.

One major thing that did irritate me was the cutting of the dances - would have liked to have seen a dance without cutting to different shots. OH thought it was because the 'crews' could not sustain a proloned sequence.
7/10 I liked the music

I saw this last night at Liverpool Showcase, film started 30 minutes late. Sky rep said that they were expecting over 300 people to show up. We were kept waiting in the cinema foyer until 7.20pm, the huge queue ( over 200 people) winding round and round and round. Felt sorry for the usher who was trying to work out who he had given 3D glasses to already. Total disorganisation.

When the film started the 3D wasn't working and it took over 5 minutes and lots of people getting up and down to tell them, before it was finally adjusted. The film just carried on from were it was up to, no restart, no apologies.

Didn't really enjoy the film at all, badly acted and mediocre dancing on the whole. Although I loved the scenes with the latin dancers in the club. They were amazing.

Went to the O2 Premiere last night. First one ever. (Thanks again to prettyxcool!)

Being a newbie premiere attendee, I wasn't aware that the entire cinema was booked out for it. :P We were allocated Screen 4 and it filled up quite quickly. Show started promptly at 7, but had issues with the screen. First 5 minutes had no 3D, so it was like double image / shadow. People got off the seats to complain - I was about to walk out as well because it felt like a total waste of time. They did fix it subsequently, which took another 10 mins or so. Not a great start.

Plot-wise, I suppose there isn't much to talk about. Shallow and predictable, dialogues / lines were cheesy, almost squeamishly unbearable. But then, I went in with no expectation of a good storyline. I was mainly interested in the dance routine. While not a street dancing / breakdancing / hip hop aficionado, I thought it was very entertaining. Not seen instalment the first, and seeing George Sampson doing some of his BGT moves was good entertainment. Not enough of him, granted, given he wasn't the main character. All in all, I enjoyed the show and it met my expectations.

Film-wise from my perspective 7/10
Experience-wise 5/10 (bad start with dodgy projection / screen)

Street Dance 2 - think that refers to the score out of 10!! Tom Conti is getting old and flabby!!! The end "battle" was about the only good bit the rest was a waste of time.

I went to Shepherd's Bush last night. The experience was very nice, with a (nearly) prompt start and good audience, and no problems of 3D from the beggining as apparently happened in other places. I loved the rhythms but agree with everyone before - the plot was very predictable. Anyways, it is a nice night out if you p*y more attention to the dancers and not to the plot. 7/10
