I'm actually a relative newbie when it comes to horror films but I have watched a few classics (Carrie, Halloween) which I really liked because they not only scared you but made you think. This really doesn't. I'm not going to pretend that I wasn't scared, I'm not used to watching horror films in the cinema (even though I know that loud jump-scares are the norm), and therefore I can't comment from experience if this is a good film by contemporary horror standards. I did think that the premise was silly, and it certainly doesn't stick in the mind long after watching. But I was scared, so it's a 6/10

Saw this at Lothian Road last night. Two females came in late and sat behind us and produced a very large bag of crisps each and rustled and crunched through almost the first half of the movie. Despite everyone glaring at them they just carried on opening another bag of sweets. So annoying and lack of thought for anyone else. :wall:

As for the film wouldn't recommend it. Not very scary - I only jumped at two unexpected moments. 5/10

I must admit I would have told them to be quiet :nono: as I think half the tension of these films comes from silence of the cinema with the screams/unexpected/noises. 8O
I don't usually watch scary movies but it was scary enough for me! :X You must be very brave, biggins!

I'm so rarely impressed by horror films in any way. Even when I recognise one that works quite well (such as The Woman in Black), I still tend to be less than entertained on a personal level. Not so with Sinister. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and it even made me jump once! That never happens! So yeah, good stuff for sure.

102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Went to see this but got there a bit late at Lothian Road. We missed our dinner so managed to guzzle a giant bag of Crisps and sweets in the first half an hour. Nobody said anything but there was a lot of tutting, they probably didn't like the film much.

I'm only joking Biggins not seen it yet but have tickets for Braehead tomorrow. Depends on baby sitters etc if no joy I'll stick on the offered section. I'm not normally a fan of this genre of film as a rule but may give it a go.

Thought it would be rubbish but I actually enjoyed it. Made me jump a few times as did most of the audience.

Little annoyed by a very very loud woman at the opposite side on a mobile. Luckily lady in front of her told her to shut up.

Great evening 7/10

Just got back from this at Westfield Stratford. Room was reasonably filed out, was quite pissed off when I noticed someone walk in at 19.05, considering for Rock of Ages I was there at 18.35 and got turned away, but oh well.Film wasn't bad, horror's not usually my style but it wasn't as bad a watch as I expected.

A few wtf moments FOR EXAMPLE:
why did he use an iphone camera for 20 mins without trying the light switches at all?!
7/10 8-)
