I saw this yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. The story was well told and thought provoking. The special effects, animals and scenery was very good. 9/10

Saw this thanks to a very generous Jeancomp!

I'm not sure what to think as though it was really good and the cgi was excellent, I still have a lot of unanswered questions. I had seats 2 rows from the front so perhaps that didn't help.

I liked the bond between the tiger and pi and wished
The tiger had turned round
It was quite sad at times and I jumped a couple of times so I'd give the film 7/10

Might have to read the book, perhaps it is better suited as a book than film

Bit risky to ask for advice, but here goes: this sounds absolutely NOT like my sort of film - I don't like CGI, however realistic; animals I can take or leave and anything remotely fantastic, in the proper sense of the word, or mystical, etc, simply makes me fume. However, very generous fairies have kindly booked me tix and some people here speak very highly of this. So, do I risk giving it a chance or will I be the one to end up snarling like a tiger?

Yes, risk it! You can always walk out if you don't like it.

I can give it a go, ladies, and I even have a choice of previews for once, but the nearest still means about a 20-mile round trip in rush hour traffic, so I'd rather not resort to walking out! In London I could always go and see or do something else, but Crawley is a cultural desert apart from the arts centre. I wondered if anyone else cynical had seen this and been converted... (not to any religion, though!)

Great film, visually and performance-wise. Thrilling and surprisingly intense in parts (The shipwreck was terrifying), loved the 3D work Lee did, the nature of the storytelling, the imagery and ideas. Not the best film of the awards season thus far, but a charming tale told well.
8/10
