Back from Braehead Odeon. Good to see a few fmukers with our free ice cream. Guess who was first in the queue for both the ice cream and film? :p I admit I went up five times for ice cream. Yummy!

You should come up here to Glasgow. For us to get a screen which holds 140 is a blessing. They tend to show talkers in screens holding about 100 to 120 though the Quay is notorious holding theirs in a screen with 65 seats. Sometimes and only sometimes they show it in a bigger screen but not very often.

I was entertained throughout the film. It felt the right amount of time and the actors/actresses did well considering there weren't many in the film.
Apart from when they show the other humans.
This was a typical Tom Cruise film and to be honest if I look that well when I get to his age I be laughing. He is fitter than me anyway. There were times I thought of Top Gun when he was in his wee chopper thing

I too wonder about the other clones and what they must had been thinking when the big thing from the sky exploded.
I also asked OH about the black box. Strange place for the recording device to be put where the crew were in deep sleep when all the action was in the cockpit? So how did it end up in their pod?
Free popcorn, free ice cream and free film 7/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

Reading the comments, this film was actually more derivative than even I had previously imagined. But I still enjoyed it.

Same here and I went to the film first though rather than the ice cream and it was well over-subscribed and they would not give us the option to see anything else as there were so many people they just took people's details to pass back to virgin and said virgin would contact us re more tickets :cross: we get something from them.

I cant believe for a blockbuster like this they allocated one of the smallest screens that holds 140 at most - no wonder it was over-subscribed as you are not likely to get many no shows for a film like this. Saying that my friend could not attend at last minute so his tickets were spare as he did not have a chance to cancel and my +1 and I know others who could not make it, but not sure if they cancelled. It makes you wonder if Virgin (and Sky as they are always using the same screen) actually know how many seats there are when they are giving out tickets. Imagine if everyone who had tickets actually turned up. This is a common problem with this cinema and over-subscription, its usually sky though and they usually let you see something else instead.

On a good point I did get 2 x B&J's as consoliation to make up for it :D
I just about got into the Manchester screening, it was almost full by 6 o'clock!

They checked at least 2 or 3 times for spare seats, so it was definitely 100% full.

The film looked fantastic and was full of ideas and the twisty plot kept me engaged all the way through. Maybe it's ironic though that a film where memory played such a key role reminded me of so many other classic films, The Matrix, Independence Day, Inception and of course Wall-E.

It didnt matter though and I enjoyed it, you can always depend on Tom-E Cruise! :D

Glad you all enjoyed your Ben & Jerry free ice cream - we didn't get any!! Asked the staff at Westerhailes Odeon when we went in but told it was only participating venues and as they don't have cones they were not participating!

However we did get the free popcorn and the film was well worth watching although rather slow to get into at the beginning. 7/10

Just got back from seeing this @ Lee Valley (second night in a row that a screening has started late due to projector based problems :wall: ) and thought that it was a pretty satisfying mainstream sci-fi flick.

It wasn't a classic of the genre by any means & most of the twists etc weren't particularly original but overall this did what I expected it to so it gets a solid 7/10 from me...

I couldn't make due to having to work late but my colleague went in my place. He and his OH loved the film, free popcorn and ice cream he was looking out for you two so must have been one of the lucky ones to get in.

Turned up at Birmingham screening and was told it was full, all Virgins fault for picking a small screen (I blame the Mrs for getting ice cream) and the last two people went in just ahead of us.

Manager at the odeon was decent as he said we could watch anything, Mrs wanted to see Trance.

Had I missed out on evil dead yesterday I wouldn't have been happy, still I was a little disappointed.

Two hours of my life I can never regain. If had not been with friends would have left. Predictable, poorly written and even the free ice cream and pop corn could not compensate for the most boring film I have seen for ages

mmm the small screen choices do irk me. The actual trailer for Oblivion looked amazing in IMAX.

I didn't go for that reason, I was doing IMAX Jack the Slayer (free via voucher). But I did get 8 free ice creams and possibly free diabetes now too.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
