Chef
Re: Chef
Would say thought the movie, the humour was very light, the best part is the blowout in the restaurant for me. The idea was good but could have been better. The cast was good but I do have one final question - how did he manage to pull his wife? Please tell me I wasnt the only one to think this?

Re: Chef
Not that I really b u y into the idea of basing a marriage on looks alone, but it was mentioned in the film he had gained a lot of weight since the critic first saw him.
FYI I didn't really think the actress super attractive, sure she was blonde and curvy with a sexy accent but a whiff of horse face I thought
(well, if people are being mean about him I will be mean about her

Re: Chef
Finally caught one of the free screenings of this at Vue Piccadilly, quite a full screening considering there has been so many screenings already.
Was not as good as I was expecting, but lighthearted and charming. Love the Cuban music. Seems to be a glut of films with separated parents and cute children about. Enjoyed spotting who's who in the cast: Oliver Platt, Dustin Hoffman, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlett Johansson
At times, I thought I was listening to Vince Vaughn rather than Jon Favreau! Do they sound alike?

Re: Chef
I’m a little surprised that the forum reviews for 'Chef' are so mixed. The crowd at Hackney Picturehouse appeared to lap it up, and I found it hard to dislike this clearly crowd-pleasing, feelgood movie. It’s actually two stories in one, the change from kitchen drama to road trip occurring almost exactly halfway through the second reel.
A little suspension of disbelief is required, particularly that one (never mind two) husbands would forsake the stunning Sofia Vergara. With a little more bite and balance, Favreau could have delivered a gourmet great; but instead he cooked up a confection much too saccharine for this reviewer’s taste.

Re: Chef
great film for me as I am a twitter addict and needed to go straight out and eat all the food I saw!
storyline was thin and predictable but happy ending sunday morning stuff that doesn't tax my brain is fine with me

Have my review up on my blog, but I thought this was a bit of a predictable feel-good family dressed up in the food trick trimmings (as delicious as it looks) - http://bakingbeardy.com/2014/07/10/chef-and-beignets-2/

I watched this on Friday last while nursing a cold and it was just what I needed to take my mind off things for a while. Easy watching and fairly funny 7/10.
