Did anyone else spot Victor Garber from Alias in the bank scene at the beginning (he plays the assistant manager who Jem attacks)? I'm assuming he did it as a favour to Affleck's wife and Alias co-star Jennifer Garner. He's not even officially credited in the cast list. I was expecting to see more of him (the character makes more appearances in the book) so was surprised when it just turned out to be a blink and you'll miss it cameo.

Now listen to me prettyxcool I am the quietest person around when it comes to the cinema or theatre. It's the rest of the world that's noisy!

Glad to see you and your husband and glad you enjoyed the film.

Seen this in cineworld Cardiff last night in a 90% full cinema, had to sit in the front. While there was more leg room you also had to lean back to get as much of the curved screen into view as possible.

Having said that, the film certainly wasn't one you could drop of to sleep while watching. I too had a problem understanding some of the dialogue, thought it was just me having a long day :D

I haven't read the book but agree with others, that some areas could have been explored more - the visit to AA - seemed to be just dropped in out of nowhere, the change of heart/morals - a couple of dates with the bank manager and he's reformed???? Will look out for the book to see what I have missed.

Enjoyed the acting, I liked it more than I thought I would. 8/10

After all the tiring work at school, I was expecting more :(. I'm not saying, it's a bad movie. Really suspense and I did jump a few times. But the plot was quite straight forward and predictable, I did feel a bit snoozy in the middle of the film. The last half hour it's more exciting.
soonforgotten wrote:My big hang-up is the fact that no way does any crew pull so many jobs in such a short amount of time. Especially when they had so much heat on them. I also believe the FBI would've been all over them before that final job.
I totally agreed with this! This made the movie slightly unbelievable to me. They're robbing big money not 7-eleven or Costcutter. May be, me too watched too much of CSI :giggle: , I thought they would be away from the area until the heat cool down.

By the way, how many banks are there in Charlestown? All already robbed by them... poor bankers! ;)
Sorry but it's just a 6.5/10 from me and my OH.

I must get Pretty to introduce us next time.

The noisy people were sitting in front of me.... After eating the popcorn, which was in paper bags, they began to rip up the bags.

Enjoyed the film though... liked the nuns :).

This was very good. I was expecting a lot after "Gone Baby Gone" and although it wasn't as good as this it was still well worth watching.

Also, somebody earlier in the thread mentioned seeing Chris Eubank (Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue) - I saw him as well in passing but my friend didn't recognise him so I wasn't sure. And, as they say, he was definitely shorter than I expected.

I enjoyed the film and was glad I had waited for the screening at Cineworld last night instead of the seeing it on a small screen at the Cameo on Sunday morning. Sometimes could have done with sub-titles as found it hard to make out the mumbles at some points - thought at first it was me but my daughter said the same. Still would give it 8 out of 10.

Like stuartboy I too had clicked on the Enfield location instead of Edinburgh and although I sent it back immediately the site would not let me use my email address to get another ticket for the correct location. However, I discovered that if another code comes out for same date and locations their site allows you to use your email address on the new code - so I was sorted. :D

They were robbing banks in Boston. When they crossed the bridge, they were back in Charlestown. The way it works is that the Boston police cannot cross into Charlestown because it's not their jurisdiction. The state police or FBI could chase them into and through Charlestown, but not the Boston police.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
