So Megamind was my first film of 2011. Better late than never. I used a Cineworld voucher that ran out next week, and I'm really delighted I saw this film. I went for the 2D version and didn't feel I missed out on anything.
I enjoyed the voiceover at the start, which I thought was a funny take on Superman and a nice way of easing me into the film.
I've read reviews criticising it for not being funny enough, but I thought there was plenty of humour and enough sight gags to keep me entertained without detracting from story and characterisation.
I preferred this to Despicable Me. The voices were better done (no confusing accents) and I was more interested in the superhero storyline.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, and would recommend it for kids and bigger kids. I was the only person in the screening today!

Re: Megamind
Saw this yesterday as I had a voucher due to expire on the 15th. Pretty much agree with what cwl says above, although I did prefer Despicable Me.

Re: Megamind
i think people would compare Megamind and Despicable Me, they were both very watchable with their similar themes. I think where Megamind disappoints abit more and did less well at the box office was the surprising lack of screen time/voice over time for Brad Pitt, despite it being advertised heavily as a Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt voiceover. Instead we get alot more of Jonah Hill.
And obviously it didn't help that it came out after Despicable Me, so some of the box office draw was taken away.
Nevertheless I liked the bad guy is actually the good guy storyline and less emphasis on the companies to make cuddly characters to sell more dolls or use as ideas for theme parks. (or are there Megamind dolls already?
)
7.5/10
