I felt really let down. We have waited ages for this film and I expected a tense thriller: instead it's a rather gory thriller with more than a passing glance at Carrie. I thought that Portman was well cast and was fragile yet strong...and yes Hershey was fab.
I watched it in a Picturehouse and the audience actually started to laugh towards the end.A great shame as the elements were there but the end product missed its target.

Saw this today with my loyalty ticket and boy was i glad!
Id heard alot of different things about it and was a bit uneasy but i trusted it to be good considering all the attention its got.
I loved the cinemotagraphy and the jaunty camera constantly following her around, reminds me of how shes constantly watching her own back and making sure shes 'perfect'
perfectly portrays such a desperate struggle and my god the hallcinations! at the end of it i was still struggling to guess what was real and what wasnt, tragic story, tragic film, but beautiful, as shakespeare/director intended!
:)

bit too much dancing for my liking. Was fascinated by Natalie's now you see it now you don't make up in the casting couch scene. Liked the goose skin effect. Otherwise nah not for me thanks. 6/10.

After watching Black Swan I can see why it will not please everyone. However, I found it compelling and full of suspense as we are drawn into Nina’s fear and paranoia. Natalie Portman plays a very convincing fragile ballerina, striving for perfection but suffocated by an overbearing mother and trapped in a prepubescent world of stuffed toys and girlie ornaments. It is visually beautiful and I liked the seamless special effects of her transformation.

Absolutely wonderful. Natalie Portman's portrayal of a ballerina was beautiful with an overbearing mother who blamed her for the loss of her career and was trying to relive her life through her. It was harrowing in parts seeing how the obsession with perfection and paranoia meet. 9/10 Free thanks to a_person and Cineworld code o/

I went to see this on Thursday evening and thought it was marvellous. Natalie Portman was excellent in the role of tormented Swan Queen. Her performance was so good, the other characters were completely overshadowed.

8/10 from me.

I agree - 8/10, thought it was a visually stunning masterpiece of tense drama (nail teearing stuff).....what a build up to a 'perfect' ending!!

I wanted to be a ballerina when i was young, after seeing this so glad i danced to a different tune :P

Very enjoyable. Excellent plot and stunning visuals. At times, it reminded me of a David Lynch film.
