Re: Millennium: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
I watched the film last night and if I hadn't already read the book I would have thought it was one of the best crime thrillers ever. Even though I knew what was coming I still jumped out of my seat and the film as a whole was very chilling.

This is why Total Film held their screening of this at Frightfest, despite it not being a' horror film'.tarantinoed wrote:I watched the film last night and if I hadn't already read the book I would have thought it was one of the best crime thrillers ever. Re: Millennium: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Saw this today at York City Screen (Picturehouse), and it was fairly busy. PeteYork and Allsinging (and some friends & family) were also there.
I never managed to finish the book before I went (having only started it yesterday!), but and quite happy to continue reading as I really loved what I have read, and loved the film even more.
I took a little while to get into the Swedish with English subtitles, which is a bit surprising, as this is the second Swedish film I have seen this month. The characters were excellent, the acting very convincing and the plot riveting (even though I guessed most of the story...) It was quite 'tough' in places, but by no means was it a horror flick, IMHO. It is tense, but not so much that it scares you witless. The only downside is that it is a tad too long without an interval, especially as it started 15 minutes late - or maybe I should just drink less coffee!
At least a 9/10 for me... maybe a bit more. I cannot wait to see the next one in the series, and the one after that.

Re: Millennium: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Just to echo Cortone's report as to how good it was: having read I knew what was coming, but really enjoyed it nevertheless.
A special thanks to Steve9782 and bevvy for their help with tickets and Allsinging for her kind offer - very much appreciated!

I once went hiking with M. C. Escher. It was uphill all the way there and uphill all the way back.

Have to agree with Peteyork and Cortone on a really good film..and one i would watch again. Now i've seen the film I'd like to read the book or should i say start the series
A good 9 from me
The subtitles were done well, not too fast where you couldn't keep up

Good news everyone I've invented a device that makes you read this in your head in my voice!
