A very emotional film, great performances by Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckart and I thought the ending was superb. 8.5/10
14 and 15 year olds were bored and thought the film was awful, 16 year old was moved by it.

Went to the Odeon at Westerhailes, Edinburgh tonight only to be told that the reel was at Odeon Lothian Road - although the sky tickets definately stated Westerhailes. Some people who had come by car had just enough time to get there for the 6.30 start but others like us had travelled by bus so couldn't get there in time. :wall:

Offered us The Kings Speech, Gullivers Travels or Little Fockers to see instead - had seen the Kings Speech so we opted for Little Fockers as we thought it would be a good laugh but very disappointing.

Saw this at Swiss Cottage tonight, in a tiny screen. It was well-written and well-acted but there's nothing new here. It's not as profound as it perhaps could have been and it's pretty much as one would expect: how the death of a child can put a terrible strain on a marriage and how people try to find ways to cope. It's engaging but nothing of much interest really happens. But for what it is, it's quite good. It doesn't overstay its welcome either. 8/10

And yeah, Nicole Kidman isn't looking too natural these days. It's a bit creepy.

I must be one of those people who just didn't 'get it', it really didn't work for me, I was bored, I liked the male lead, Nicole Kidman's character just bored me, I did like how it ended and thought that was the best 5 minutes of the film (and not just because it was ending) but overall it wasn't for me, which was a shame as i was really looking forward to this one.

But hey wouldn't it be a boring world if we all liked the same things!

Quite full in Odeon Cardiff. OH managed to fall asleep and had to nudge him when the snoring started! I could hear "lucky sod" from behind my seat.
I enjoyed (strange term to use for this film) the play between the loss of the two mothers. But overall have to say a thumbs down for me. 5/10

Saw this at The O2 last night, got there for around 6.10 got a seat at the far end second row from the back. 10min later i smell Nandos in the cinema and i think it cant be and must be my head playing with me as im a little hungry. So i ignore it and let the film roll on.

I get what the film was trying to do and the whole how people deal with loss, but to tell you the truth the film wasnt for me and for that reason i didnt enjoy the film much. There was some funny moments, like the weed smoking in the car when going to group. There were touching moments too when the husband goes to the ladies house and then turns back and says sorry (i dont like women like that). Overall im glad that through the rough time the couple stayed together when they so easily could of driffted apart by making bad decisions. 5/10

When leaving the cinema on the front row guess what i saw? Yep you guessed it, a Nandos bad with the rubbish in it. So i was right and someone was eating Nando's while watching the film.

I was in Swiss Cottage and I'm actually one of those that had a bit of a laugh at the end; It wasnt a rude laugh related to the ending (that, despite the movie, I quite liked) but more an instinctive reaction to the movie overall... a "what was that!" laugh: as I mentioned in my review few pages back, I didn't like the movie, I didn't quite like plastic lady's performance and overall I found the movie ways too slow.

I'm sorry if someone felt offended and I apologise for that, but the movie was over and, to tell you the truth, I found much more irritating the lady in the back with the mobile on in the middle of the movie...

Anyway to whole those who liked the movie I strongly suggest to watch "The Son's Room" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0208990/) and then have an other think to this one.

Regards,
Michele

I wasn't at Swiss Cottage, I watched at Uxbridge and I remember thinking how quiet the whole room was at the end, not even a rustling of a crisp packet.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

We are considerate at Uxbridge raineylb !! I am surprised you did not hear my son squashing his drink bottle as he was so bored ! I was not amused with him.
