I need some glasses I think...haha. Honestly I see chat on film code threads but never on theatre code thread (or I better pop into the kitchen to take my memory pills)

Indeed. I always get very excited when receiving a theatre alert and check the thread straight away. So when it's chat I get annoyed and instantly report it.a_person wrote:Ever? Are you kidding me? Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Glad to see someone agreeing with me - you're spot on with everything you've mentioned. Thought I was alone on this one!canadian_turtle wrote:You know what a_p, I completely agree with you!
A few weeks ago I posted the news that All New People would have a free understudy show in the codes thread but only after careful consideration and asking around (and because it's a big West End show) but even then I felt it wasn't the right place for it.
Today my phone kept buzzing for new theatre alerts and 99% of the time they were duplicates ("more tickets available") or not even codes and could've easily been posted here (theatre discussion thread) instead. Furthermore, the non-code posts confused other people which then led to chat in the theatre codes thread and more buzzing from my phone as new email alerts came in.
Personally I find it a let down to receive an alert for anything but a coded event. Sure, even events that have a SFF code aren't always things I am interested in but the amount of non code posts (duplicates, chat, non-code free theatre) has increased a lot recently and the amount of alerts received for them can get quite annoying.
These posts could've easily been made in this thread instead and still be just as helpful and informative without sending out email alerts to everyone subscribed to the codes only thread.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Without sounding outrightly rude, you regularly post in the wrong places (i.e. chatting on threads where you shouldn't be) and you do it again and again so yes when that happens, people don't bother to answer questions. When posted in the correct place, most people will answer (just like canadian_turtle did so now).ladams888 wrote:
I posted this on the codes thread but although unanswered it got deleted. So how do we get tickets?
I appreciate you are keen on pointing something out but I hope you can appreciate the number of times you set off notifications to people who come online just to find chat and how frustrating it must be for them. If you don't know where you should ask your question, the best thing to do is PM the person who posted whatever you need to query about.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I do not regularly post in the wrong places, in fact, it is the first time I have ever posted anything (apart from film reviews - which I always post in the right place, of course). So please don't jump down my throat if I am asking a simple question that I thought, if answered would benefit everybody who might be interested. I have never seen an understudy performance advertised so was interested in how one gets tickets - as the OP made no mention of how one actually gets tickets. I went to the website for the New Wimbledon Theatre and (of course) there was no mention of this performance. So rather than flame me - it would be far more useful (and politer) to simply point me in the right directiona_person wrote:Without sounding outrightly rude, you regularly post in the wrong places (i.e. chatting on threads where you shouldn't be) and you do it again and again so yes when that happens, people don't bother to answer questions. Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
ladams888, the thread you previously posted your question in is called "Free Theatre/Concert/Misc - codes only, NO CHAT nor COMPS".
Regardless of whether this has happened before or not, your question was posted in the wrong place which is why it was deleted. It was a nuisance to other board members as those subscribed to the theatre codes thread would've all gotten an email alert from your post thinking a new code/free theatre event had been posted.
The right place to ask this question would've been to PM the original poster or post your question here (theatre discussion thread).
We were just discussing chat and other irrelevant posts here and your comment "although unanswered got deleted" came in the middle of that discussion. Reading a few posts up or down you would've seen why it was deleted in the first place.

In which case I would say that the OP was wrong - for as it was a CODES ONLY thread - there was no code and no other info as to how we get tickets!canadian_turtle wrote:ladams888, the thread you previously posted your question in is called "Free Theatre/Concert/Misc - codes only, NO CHAT nor COMPS".
