Haven't seen it yet but everyone is saying it's not as good as critics say, what do you think?

hoom, hoom.

of course the downside of this film being an absolute stormer is that theres going to be little to watch at the cinema for a good few weeks. Previews now become more important than ever.

I'm probably going to watch it couple of times so 2D first i guess. I'm not saying the HP movies are the best, I actually do prefer the LOTR triology over it. But like canadian_turtle said its the emotion tied with it too.

I have seen Harry Potter Deathly Hallows 2 and I enjoyed it very much. I've seen it in 3D but I think 2D is enough. Helena Bonham Carter was acting so well!

this movie is pretty much like its predecessors with the same strengths yet not solving any of their faults. But if you put aside the faults (a few crap child actors, a truely crap script and plot that appears to have been written by a baboon) then you can admire an unparallelled series of f/x shows, at least treble as many as in any previous HP movie. Its like a fireworks night in 3d. they look terrific.

And significantly - not a long film, which was an undeniable fault of earlier films, they got too bloody boring. You can almost get through this one without wanting to punch emma watsons 1 dimensional single expression angst-ridden face off. At last the end of her acting career, thank heavens!

the film effects demand IMAX and I thought the 3d was good, if not great (few 3d films are avatar quality anyway), and its best you watch it using your own invented plot (rather than the one on offer that makes no sense), that will make it more fun.

I am afraid heaven has let you down, my friend. Emma has 2 films in the pipeline, both in post production and both top billing star ;)

rest assured i wont be seeing either of them, my friend. o/ not without my ak47 anyway. :X

the potter movies are spectacles more than films, so its unfair to give them a rating, I think, Glassy. Its like giving a rating to an IMAX science museum movie. They look flabberghastingly fannyfantastic! When I went to see Order of the Phoeix, I was drooling during the dumbledorv voldermort duke-out, sometimes thats worth the ticket price. Same reason I'll be going to see Conan (lol).

Now that I've seen them all, my 'comparative' potter ratings -
Sorcerors Stone 8/10
Chamber of Secrets 5/10
Afghanistan 3/10
Goblet of Curry 6/10
Order from the Phoenix 8/10
Halfpint Prince - need to see it once more. its the wierd cousin of the series.
Hallows 1 - 4/10
Hallows 2 - 7/10

pesonally i still think Sorcerors Stone is better, being the mould for the rest of the movies, and Phoenix is the best for me, its got real direction, and I like Harry much more when hes got balls. But definitely the new one is one of the strongest.
