Robert Pattinson is rumoured to be starring in the forthcoming Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire.

The Twilight star, who is currently in Cannes to promote his new movie, Cosmopolis, is reportedly wanted for the role of [spoiler]Finnick Odair[/spoiler]in the cult sci-fi fantasy. Lionsgate, the studio behind The Hunger Games, is apparently considering the actor for the part of the [spoiler]former District 4 winner[/spoiler]. However, they are yet to confirm or deny the rumours. Speaking to the Huffington Post, Lionsgate said in a statement: "As with the first film, we won't be confirming, denying or commenting any casting rumours for this title. "We will announce news wide when there is official casting news to announce."

But Pattinson isn't the only actor who's been linked to the role. Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford is also rumoured to be being considered for the part. [anakin: YUM YUM] When asked in a recent interview about his link to the role, the actor joked that he had "an in" with Lionsgate, as they are the same film studio that made his new movie, What To Expect When You're Expecting, adding that he "would be honoured" to accept the part.

Catching Fire is set to begin filming this autumn for a November 2013 release.
