Beate wrote:I can recommend Sheffield Park Garden (simply stunning) and High Beeches Garden near Haywards Heath, Arundel, Herstmonceux and Bodiam Castles, Drusilla's Park (a small zoo) and all National Trust properties for their food, if for nothing else.

Not sure about all of them but Bodiam Castle is definitely included on the National Trust's free days on the 12th September is anyone wants to take a look. I have to say when the children were slightly younger they loved going and seeing the jousting competitions - a real proper castle experience!

Did you guys know that scenes from "In the Loop" were shot inside One Great George Street, London? I was there tonight at the "Best of British Party" which was an Executive PA Reader Event (absolutely gorgeous food, I could have sat in the Beef Wellington!), and we got a guided tour through the rooms you can hire for parties and meetings. The most beautiful thing about the building has got to be the staircase, and they have a small screening room which had "In the Loop" on a loop, showing scenes filmed on exactly that staircase and in one of the meeting rooms. o/

It sounds as if you have had a great time, Beate. What else did you have to eat? No beef bourignone,on the menu, I presume. ;)

No, that would have been best of French! They had mini triangular bags of fish and chips (2 tiny fish bits and some chips, it looked so sweet!), Scotch eggs, pork pies, cheese and biscuits, some other yummy canapees I can't remember, strawberry cream cakes, Pimms, champagne... They even had someone dressed up as a Bobby, LOL.
