Nov 18th 12-2pm

You are invited to a free lunch for 5000 people made entirely out of fresh ingredients that would otherwise go to waste: wonky carrots, misshapen potatoes and other fresh surplus produce.

First come first served

To celebrate the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia and superstar producer DJ deadmau5 will transform Millbank Tower on the banks of the River Thames in London for an amazing never-before-seen show.

The one-off event on Nov 28th will see deadmau5 perform in front of the iconic 120 metre tower to a backdrop of spectacular 3D projections that will push the boundaries of live performance technology.

Echoing the cutting edge design of the Nokia Lumia 800 and using the latest state of the art visuals, the amazing show will use the 800 windows that make up the skyscaper as the canvas for a stunning spectacle.

Deadmau5 said, "Visuals have always been an important part of my shows, so the chance to work with Nokia and its projection team on a project of this scale and ambition is really exciting"

The event will be free for all spectators, who will be able to view the half hour performance from the North and South sides of the River Thames!

Christmas is nearly upon us and to celebrate we're holding a reader Meet and Greet and StreetPass event in conjunction with Mario Kart 7 and Nintendo 3DS.

The meet and greet will be taking place at on Tuesday December 6th at The Bloomsbury Tavern, 236 Shaftsbury Avenue, in Central London (map here) from 7pm (nearest tube Tottenham Court Road), and we want you come down and say hi.

We'll be holding a Mario Kart 7 Championship with Nintendo kindly providing us four copies of Mario Kart 7 and various bits of merch to be won throughout the night.

Don't have a 3DS yet? Don't worry, come along anyway, because there will be a Super Mario 3D Land Ice White Nintendo 3DS bundle to be won on the night too.

There's no need to RSVP, just turn up for mince pies, pints, and pressies with the IGN UK editorial team. We look forward to meeting you all there!

Come & Try Some Top Quality Sake
Sake comes in a huge amount of different varieties depending on the rice used, the rice polishing ratio and a whole host of other small changes. Right at the top of the sake quality table is Junmai Daiginjo. This is the best quality sake that uses the purest rice and contains no added distilled alcohol like some other types of sake.

If you want to see why Junami Daiginjo tastes so much better than other types of sake, come to Japan Centre on Saturday 3rd December and try it for yourself.

What: Free sake tasting with two varieties from Asahi Shuzo in Yamaguchi prefecture. Dassai Junmai Daiginjo Niwarisanbu & Dassai Junmai Daiginjo Fifty.

When: Saturday December 3rd 2011 at 1pm until 9pm.

Where: Japan Centre Regent Street.
