I was looking forward to some comedy tonight as it would have helped me get over a sh*ty day at work :(

"We regret to inform you that all tickets for Dry Rot for Showfilmfirst members have been cancelled.
What has upset us more is the reason that they have been cancelled. The theatre have cancelled our allocation and will probably not work with us again, because the box office have been inundated with calls from our members regarding tickets.

This note was sent to all members with the invitation:

Important note: Please do not contact the box office direct. There are only a few tickets available and this is a private arrangement with Showfilmfirst, unfortunately no special requests can be considered for these tickets. We are privileged to have the tickets and thank you for your discretion.
For us and for the members that adhere to our terms this is really upsetting, but for those who were calling the theatre, please contact us direct if you would like to cancel your membership.
Disappointed @

Showfilmfirst "
That's such a shame that the tickets have been withdrawn, must have been more than just general enquiries to provoke complete withdrawal of tickets.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

I guess if it was in London, people would still try their luck anyway.

??? It's true, isn't it?? When shows have been cancelled, people go anyway...
I didn't mean a london thing, I mean people who use SFF.

That's because sometimes this turned out to be false alarm and people had no problem receiving tickets. But this sounds like the venue is properly peed off and won't do anything for SFF anymore.

And that's what I said, some people will also think this is a false alarm too and just go if it was more centrally located.

I do think, though, that it's a bit rich of SFF to complain about members ignoring them when the boot is often on the other foot. I regularly seem to read comments on here about SFF failing to respond (I know some people fare better and seem to have developed a relationship with SFF) and I have personal experience of that, even when I've sent a polite reminder after waiting a reasonable time. Yes, of course it would be a shame if today's problem meant no more tix, ever, at Windsor, but it's hard to believe that the theatre received an exceptional number of enquiries. Maybe they were just unused to the whole procedure, received a few calls and overreacted?
