Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I am guessing the theatre at Windsor is more used to a leisurely pace rather than the hectic business the london theatres get.

I certainly found it more sedate - similar audience to that at, say, Guildford, though I only attend matinees at those locations.
Perhaps SFF need to be a bit clearer with theatres when setting up an arrangement AND with members in pointing out the possible consequences of breaking the taboo about contacting theatres directly, e.g. say that failure to observe this request may lead to tix being cancelled?

I think the only thing they really should get annoyed with is when/if SFF ticket holders start talking about how free the whole thing is in front of p*ying customers.

I must say that this line "for those who were calling the theatre, please contact us direct if you would like to cancel your membership." had me laughing out loud. They have no idea who called the theatre. Do they honestly think someone is going to come forward to have their membership cancelled?

Perhaps it was a VIP member who theatened the theatre that they would cancel their membership (because they weren't happy with their treatment by the theatre). (Hope you can follow what I'm trying to say here.Beate wrote:I must say that this line "for those who were calling the theatre, please contact us direct if you would like to cancel your membership." had me laughing out loud. That would only make sense if it actually was a VIP code.

A VIP-er could've still booked and either thought it was VIP or expected special treatment regardless.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I think that the theatre in Windsor just got overwhelmed -- possibly by just a phone call or two! Perhaps those in the theatre who made the arrangements with SFF forgot to tell their Box Office staff what was happening. Very unfortunate for all those who were hoping for a matinee today and hope that tempers simmer down both at SFF and at Windsor.

I didn't mean a london thing, I mean people who use SFF.
I done it on several occasions not because I was trying my luck but mostly because I didn't have a chance to check my emails from 9am or so on these days! In all cases but one (noises off!) I was given the tickets - no problems at all! and was later surprised to find out it was actually cancelled... and I had an email about it.And in case of Noises off they just send me to the Old Vic to see The Dutchess of Malfi and told me that the SFF Tickets for Noises off would be accepted by Old Vic box office... and they were accepted on that day....
When I had a cancellation email at least a day before ( for example Rango With Capital FM and my unfortunate experience with Lorax..) I obviously didn't go (especially with kids!)... and was disappointed to learn later that it was on and we could have got in without any problems...
