Re: The Diary Room
I was having a bit of a chat with Andrews and Spanner last night at "The Fighter" screening before the film started.
They reminded me about the email I'd sent to various parties about the aborted Tron screening in mid December, and that I'd promised to update everyone who was interested. So here goes:
If you are not interested in the outcome, look away now.
No-one else responded apart from the Odeon but I did receive a nice email from them as follows:
Dear Complaining FMUKer,
I am in receipt of your email regarding your visit to us at ODEON Silverlink. Whenever our guests are unsatisfied with our service it is disappointing as we do endeavour to make every visit enjoyable
I apologise for the dissatisfaction you experienced during your visit. Unfortunately we can sometimes experience technical difficulties and on a few occasions we have been forced to cancel performances at short notice. If this happens we will always try to offer compensation to those guests affected with either a refund or a guest pass to watch a film at another time. On this occassion I fully understand your frustration regarding the restrictions on the guest passes you were issued, therefore I would like to offer you a further 4 guest passes which you can use for newly released films. Along with the guest passes I would like to offer you and your family 2 film food combo's for you to enjoy on your next visit.
Please let me know if you would like the passes and film food voucher posted to you or if you would like to organise your next visit with me personally.
Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention and please be assured that we value your comments as much as your custom.
If during a visit you have any concerns please inform the Duty Manager who will be happy to help resolve your concern immediately. I hope that you continue to visit us again at ODEON Silverlink and that your next visit is an enjoyable one.
Sincerely
O D Onbod
Cinema Manager
Obviously, I snapped their hands off and now have the passes (with no expiry dates) and the food offer letter thing tucked away for future use. Best thing is that passes are not restricted to the Silverlink so can be used for any screenings (including brand new releases) in the IMAX at the Metrocentre. Yay!
Not being a great snacker whilst I watch films, I'm not exactly sure what a "food film combo" actually is. They may be really nice, and we will definately get them - maybe to eat in the car on the way home. But don't you think the actual phrase "food film combo's" sounds dreadful?

Re: The Diary Room
A food film combo usually consists of a soft drink and popcorn/hot dog/ nachos

Re: The Diary Room
Talking of complaints, I won a DVD and a T-shirt in November and still have not recieved it. I've emailed twice, got one reply and don't know what to do now. Any ideas?
