Even the best laid plans sometimes backfire. I have been b*ying soft drinks and storing them in the garage. I went to get a can of Diet Coke today and found that they have frozen, and burst, and formed a frozen reservoir on the shelf where placed. That's going to be fun to clean up. :xmas:

These guidelines are also helpful

Thank you for the concern, Mr G, and the links. I don't think it's worth seeing my GP at present as for one thing I already p*y for physio so am getting some help with it and for another, I think giving up my job would either cure it or at least alleviate the symptoms, so I'm going to wait and see. Unfortunately so many jobs these days involve using a computer and of course I do so a lot in my own time, too.

I try and massage my hands and wrists and that seems to help!

Yes, that sounds like some of the advice the physio has given me. But guess what, when I got home today there was a note from a neighbour saying they had my parcel and when OH kindly went to fetch it for me, it turned out they had had it for days - aargh! I didn't know as Royal Mail didn't leave me a card saying the parcel was elsewhere. So I could have been trying out my wrist support at work but now I will have to wait until I'm in again on Saturday.

I'm none too pleased with them either. I sent off for some wellies for my grandson as we couldn't get his size anywhere. I pa*d over £8 in postage for express delivery.
Yesterday, there was a ring at our entryphone but there was no-one there by the time OH answered it.
These delivery drivers just don't allow enough time for people to answer before they speed off again with the parcel.

No card was left but I suspected it might have been them so I phoned the company today and they looked it up on the Parcelforce tracking system. The system said that there was no answer so it had been left for collection "at the post office". There was no indication of which post office this was so I then had to phone the Parcelforce depot to establish where it was and then go and collect it - a lot of extra hassle for me, just because the driver can't be bothered to wait for an answer or fill in a card!

You should ask for a refund. That is really taking the f**king piss. Idiot c***s.

I really do relate. ParcelForce can be so impatient. (well they are royal mail afterall). My parcel with NEXT was next day delivery which I ordered on Tuesday night (so wednesday really). Therefore I expected it on Thursday. Come Thursday, I trace the package to see that the f**king package has just left the f**king depot. It didn't arrive until Friday but I'm taking it back and returning it tomorrow and that's their own fault for wasting my time.

You should ask for a refund.

Yes it's just great if they don't even leave a card behind so you have got no number to ring and if you find it on the net, they ask for info from the card - which you haven't got.
I sent all my Christmas post out on Saturday and some which only had to go a few miles seem not to have arrived yet whereas others have! What's going on?

"Royal" Mail really does seem to be in a mess and was even before the various snowfalls.

I wouldn't want to criticise the staff at the coalface, as it were, because many of us know what it's like to be on the receiving end of ill-informed and unfair comments, but I do wish they would at least (a) offer those who could do so the opportunity to collect their own post from the sorting office, even temporarily and (b) deliver the backlog in the order in which it was sent - even if that meant marking items in some way. I am receiving some items literally weeks late yet others are still arriving, if not promptly, then at least within days rather than weeks, but it's completely random and, needless to say, not in my own order of priority!

As for companies which force you to p*y for 1st class/next day/express delivery, etc, surely those are unfair terms in the circumstances?
