Just got offered redundancy from Manchester city council. Been there 24 years & they are not even offering a years p*y.

That's not a good offer, Steve. I thought the idea was that voluntary terms would be better to persuade people to go, thus saving forced redundancies later?

Another problem is if I were to take it (not going to happen) MCC is the biggest employer locally, so not much chance of finding another job.

They are also one of the largest local government employers generally!

I really hope it works out for you. Local government is one of the worst places to be right now.
