I forgot to say this year's Maundy fell on the Queen's actual birthday, and again we
were lucky enough to see her leaving in her car when we came out of the Abbey
and everyone was shouting happy birthday!

Yes, sh, I was wearing my best frock! :P

Haven't been a great week, been busy and missed a few functions, but did go to a really spectacular venue on Wednesday, it was like walking onto the set of the Lion King. I really wasn't sure at the start, whether is was too "tacky". Yes, it certainly was over the top, but it was enjoyably over the top.
There were people walking around with giraffe heads like the ones in the Lion King, there were other dancers and costumed "actors". The food was of a surprisingly decent standard and there were various activities for the guest to do, african drumming lessons, blind wine tasting competition and more. Definitely will visit it again

Sounds really good, was this an adults only event? Wine tasting at Lion King sounds very unusual.
