Who else was there?
I was there :) Sat next to the girl who asked about Mike Mills' music videos during the Q+A. Movie was ok, though I was admittedly really tired.

I thought the dog was cute, "Are we married yet?" and the movie tried to be artsy and different but sadly ended up being slow and too long. Though it looked lovely and simple, it was mediocre at best. 6.5/10

I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more had we seen Ewan at the Q/A afterwards but sadly my friend and I were at the Mayfair and didn't get the memo that you had to be 60+ years old for this screening. Ah well, the seats were comfy.

Ouch that over 60s comment would have really hurt me had I been at Mayfair and not Curzon Soho! You too will get old someday, canadian_turtle and anyway, isn't 60 the new 40? That's what everyone kept telling me when I turned 60 a few weeks ago.

Husband and son both thought this far too long and boring. I thought it had a certain charm at the start but the film got lost and I was willing it to end sooner. The story of his father seemed the better story. The love story was just boring.

I quite liked the Q&A and found it refreshing that the director Mike Mills thought that someone like Ewan McGregor would never read his script much less take on the role. And for once the audience questions were fine and no one was trying too hard to impress everyone with their vast film knowledge. I thought the American woman was a bit rude commenting that Ewan's American accent had improved from previous roles. I thought the accents were fine and the least of the film's problems.

Nothing against 60+ people (and happy belated birthday by the way), I just felt out of place as we seemed the only ones of around our age.

It's the same at every Telegraph screening. At least OH fits in, ha ha.

I thought it was OK but not much more than that. I liked the dog, of course, and also the character of Oliver's mother who was obviously being made very unhappy (if not a little insane) by her domestic situation. Although it's trite to say (and I must have seen hundreds of films with the same message) it was the first film to really impress upon me the absolute need for people to fight if necessary for personal happiness and ignore convention and the attitudes of others. For instance, when we hear about people we don't know who have, for example, walked out of relationships and left their children behind there is a tendency (with me for sure anyway) to criticise this as unacceptable but from now on I hope I will not be quite so quick to be censorious.

I thought Ewan McGregor was very enthusiastic in his response to the audience despite being clearly tired but got too shirty over the American woman's comment about his American accent. Also what's this 60+ thing - it sounds very discriminatory?

It's just that the Telegraph demographic seems on the whole to be elderly.
