Going to see this tonight at Wandsworth, and I have to admit, curious to see how Cameron translated the original film into 3D. Normally it's a bad decision, but if anyone can do it, it'd be the king of the 3d himself!

yeah I'm interested in seeig the 3D and whether it's any good, especially with a film that's well known already people will notice the changes to 3D a bit more than the story.

I've just nipped out for supplies. I don't normally eat or drink in the cinema but including time taken to get there & back and waiting time it'll be 4.5 to 5 hours so picked up some biscuits & crisps. Hopefully it won't be too full to have my crisps without annoying anyone :shifty:

Man, the balcony area was full by about 6.15pm! We just about got seats in our favourite row, right next to our favourite seats. There was only one Sky bloke dealing with all printouts, so no problem. We had a bit of a picnic before, with Pret sandwiches, jelly hearts and the popcorn we got free with the Sky voucher.

Screening was lovely and quiet, no phones, everyone behaved. Almost no kids around, thank God. But why the screening had to start 10 minutes late, with 5 minutes of that wasted on adverts is anyone's guess, the film is long enough already. The couple next to us then left about half an hour from the end. You can only imagine. "Love, we only pa*d the babysitter to 11pm." Or "I know how it ends anyway, shall we just go home?" The mind boggles.

After so many years, I still get angry with Rose for jumping out of that lifeboat.

And I have a big bone to pick with James Cameron for doing this useless conversion to 3D. In fact, it wasn't even useless, it was hindering as the film was not shot with 3D in mind at all, so added nothing to the enjoyment and in fact in some scenes where there was something out of focus in the foreground, was downright annoying.

8.5/10

I went with akh43 and we're not a couple  I really enjoyed this film as I did the first time around but didn't think that the 3D enhanced it that much. 9/10

Went to Glasgow's showing of it and we got the massive screen. I knew there was one. Now I know which screen it is. It seats I reckon 500 which is bigger than any of the other screens in Glasgow. I apologise quoting lines from the film and humming to the tunes. OH was nudging me to stop.

Anyhoo didn't realise notice 3D effects as much as I hope. Yeah the scenes were brighter and much clearer and people were more standing out, three dimensional. As for anything flying out of the screen, only saw a rivet or two as the ship broke into two but that's about it. Still love the film though but no surprises. 7/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

I never went to see this the first time round coz I didn't fancy it (or Leo).....
I never watched it on TV coz I didn't fancy it.....
I nearly didn't go to see it in 3D tonite coz I didn't fancy it.....
Guess what?
I really enjoyed it!
Of course I knew the story and what happened from all the interviews and clips you can't possibly avoid on the telly and magazines over the years since it was first released, but even if I am in the minority, I thought the 3D effects in this film were particularly good and definately added to the enjoyment of the movie. Had gone with the intention of "well if it's rubbish we can always leave", but in fact we did stay and watch the lot. It was long at over 3 hours, but it didn't seem overlong.
Maybe I enjoyed it coz I hadn't seen it first time round, but enjoy it I did, quite considerably so, and would say that it was worth going to see in 3D even if you have seen the original version. 7/10.
