Quartet

Well I loved this! Great amalgamation of actors. Witty, charming and very well acted.

Most of the audience was of the older generation so I guess it won't appeal to everybody, there was total silence except for roars of laughter etc. Everybody clapped at the end.

I had reservations about going but was so glad I did.

British acting and production at its best, superb. Really made my day!!

I've never awarded any film 10/10 and don't expect to (even 9/10 is very rare for me), but this was certainly a solid 8/10 and a film which I enjoyed every bit as much as I hoped and expected. Only about 6 of us at my screening, and the others were all older than I am - and came in quite late and faffed around trying out seats. Nice to see a film and an audience which make me feel young!

I don't usually stay for the credits but did this time as I wanted to see who all the other actors were, and I found this part quite poignant. Some seemed to have quite a large role vis-a-vis their lack of film experience (though they were obviously very experienced, and in some cases quite famous musicians), particularly the piano-playing lady, who also looked quite distinctive - I thought she must be someone I'd seen but couldn't place.

I rarely give 10/10 but this one is so brilliant I want to watch it again, it cheered me up, made me laugh so much, it's very memorable, the naughtiness, inspirational.
