Cineworld Glasgow was pretty dire this morning. The cinema we early birds got shoved in couldn't play it so we got put into another cinema an hour after it was supposed to start. The latecomers got put in with comp winners from a local paper and got to see it nearly on time. Not that great a film for the trouble we had to go through but my daughter wanted to see it so we stayed.

Anyway, the film was a crushing disappointment, lacked soul and heart, broad strokes characters, jokes and drama. Didn't care about anyone until it started getting dark, but then they didn't have the bits to go darker, and probably make a more interesting film. Ended up being a non-event from one of the directors of Dreamworks' second best film.
Decent 3D, great looking, but all for nought.
More dull than anything else.

Saw this @ Cineworld Enfield this morning, it started on time but the staff did need someone to shout 'turn the lights off' at them just after the film started  .

As for the film itself, I thought it was good rather than great. It was colourful, the creatures were inventive and the film moved along at a reasonably brisk pace but I did feel the last fifteen or so minutes dragged a bit.

Don't regret getting up early this morning to go and see it so overall it gets a satisfactory 6/10 from me...

We were at the Multimedia screening too this morning and the breakfast they had laid on was very welcome as I didn't get time for any before I left home, I do love those raspberry cakes. It was so busy though, you could hardly move, luckily we arrived early so quickly got in so the kids could have a green screen photo, a photo with Belt and a balloon model, by then it was just too packed to be comfortable to anything else or even queue without being in the way, so got some treats and went back to our seats, to find there were drinks & popcorn there too.

Overall, we really enjoyed the film, good use of 3D and it was bright and colourful with many laugh out loud moments. As Beate mentioned there were some parts which didn't really add up and the reason for the 'end of the world' is touched upon so briefly if you blink you would miss it and then you could be left wondering, but why?

However, the story is really about the family and how much they love each other and stick together and how the father has to swallow his pride for the good of them all. 7/10

Saw it at the O2 Sky Screening

Wasn't expecting much as the reviews have been a bit lukewarm, but to be honest, I quite enjoyed it.

Having seen Oz the week before, I would say I preferred Oz, but for a family film, it was enjoyable, entertaining, and didn't outstay it's welcome

6.5/10 from me

I loved this! Much better than what I was expecting and much better than Brave which was the last animated movie I saw. I thought all characters were great, there was plenty happening in this film so you wouldnt get bored and lots of funny parts! Reminded me of how I felt when I watched Up.

I would recommend, 5/5

Cute fluffy animals, rather flat 3D, but bright and colourful.

Full in a Nant Garw Showcase cinema. It was cold outside and we had to wait till 10 for the doors to open. So not high on friendliness from me. I think only one toilet trip from the GS sums up the film. He really waited, and was amazingly quick for a change, so didn't miss much. A rousing thumbs up from us. Good bright colours, funny for the children and I enjoyed it. 8/10

I liked it but it was not as good or funny as I was expecting. I felt it dragged in the middle, the story was a bit thin, and the 3D was underused. The picture was very colourful and I thought the animation looked good. I especially liked Belt.

IMO, it was better than Rise of the Guardians but not as fun as Madagascar 3, so in comparison to other recent animated films, I give it 7/10.
