People selling tix on ebay etc

Re: People selling tix on ebay etc
I find this thread to be utterly disgusting and not only the people who are selling the tickets on ebay etc but the behaviour of some of those who have penned messages is equally if not worse. Two people comment on the veiled accusations and the person with the lower amount of posts to their credit gets an extremely odd retort from the owner of the site. The people who made the veiled accusations and indicated that they knew who had posted offering tickets elsewhere suddenly go silent. I don't count 'Punch', whereby there would be no show without.
Newcomers are actively treated with disdain. Is it any wonder that many don't post, they take note of the codes, get their tickets and run. Who can blame them when we are treated in such an unwelcome way.

The annoying thing about eBay hiding the buyer's username means you can't message the respective user to tell them not to b*y it!!!bevvy wrote:
I like the way the seller has displayed all the terms and conditions including this
Tickets are for the use of the user only. Emailing of tickets, distribution of personal login details, passwords, tickets, photocopying and multiple printing of tickets is strictly prohibited. Users found to be in violation of this rule may be barred from using the Booking Site. (13) Tickets may n! ot under any circumstances be resold for financial or any other material gain.
Who in their right mind would risk bidding for these?

The regulars on here would tell me not to write back and ignore this... normally I would have followed their advice and ignored your ludicrous comment however I just need to clarify some points for you.NickyF wrote:I find this thread to be utterly disgusting and not only the people who are selling the tickets on ebay etc but the behaviour of some of those who have penned messages is equally if not worse. Firstly, are you alias-ing as someone else or are you really a new user? Just to let you know, what the owner decides to post on any comment is entirely up to him - it is a site pa*d by him afterall which helps others get FREE tickets. What has it got to do with you? He is also open to objections so why not PM him if you have such a problem? Also, perhaps there is more to the comment between the user and the owner than you actually know. So I would suggest not to make assumptions without getting the entire facts straight.
Secondly, do I assume you find the following section hard to comprehend or did your eyes suddenly squint and you mistakenly overlooked this sentence:
I think my sentence contradicts what you are saying and I would say the regulars on here are very welcoming to newbies - we were all newbies too, if you hadn't forgotten.a_person wrote:We don't mean to cause any newbies offence either and do not believe all newbies do this.
Thirdly, I don't find this thread disgusting, nor it's comments and I'm quite bemused you are disgusted by our comments. Again, don't make assumptions without knowing where the comments came from.
I think the OP of this thread did a great job putting this up. We all like to moan and this is something we all dislike - selling of FREE tickets that are otherwise taken from FMUK codes, mosty posted by the OP. She had everyright to make posts of people selling tickets which should be free. An OP who I keep saying that without her would not allow to go to FREE preview screenings. And she doesn't post for members to take abuse the system or to be sell it on.
The comments that were made were based on previous actions so unless you followed all of that through (which you haven't), I don't think it's fair of you to say it's disgusting.
As I said and will keep saying until I can drum it into a newbies head, we are more than welcoming to new members who like to participate. Obviously, if you sit there quietly and don't post, it's hard to get to know you.
Finally. If the discussion on here really disgusts you, please don't look at it. If you don't feel welcomed and don't like the comments, don't log back in. Simple.

Yup, pretty much. What a surprise that we should have another newbie with a dodgy IP (American, this time) show up to defend all the others.a_person wrote:The regulars on here would tell me not to write back and ignore this...NickyF wrote:I find this thread to be utterly disgusting and not only the people who are selling the tickets on ebay etc but the behaviour of some of those who have penned messages is equally if not worse. Frankly it's getting boring.

Re: People selling tix on ebay etc
That's quite unfair I think. But I suppose it's what people do with so many things... Tickets for gigs etc. that have been won in competitions also end up selling for a fortune on eBay...a bit frustrating if you just missed out.
Anyway, I am a newbie and am trying to post and participate. :)

Re: People selling tix on ebay etc
I'm a newbie and I've never felt unwelcome or that I'm being treated with disdain. I completely understand why people very often do not like to give tickets to newbies as you don't know them and they often don't say thank you.
I think there is a newbie/oldie divide to a degree but thats only because most don't make the effort to post. I try to. I've just been very quiet due to a recent (and now rectified) break up.
You get out what you put in. People shouldn't expect to lurk quietly and then get treated like someones BFF.
And LOL at the guy posting the T's and C's on that ebay auction. More fool the utter idiot that b*ght those tickets. It does annoy me but that one amused me a little.

I just found that one as well, whilst going through Gumtree for anything good in my area...
Have you reported this?
