Saw this at a screening in Edinburgh Vue Omni on Monday. I too was slightly put off by being able to hear the security radios crackling away Biggins!
I really enjoyed the movie, it was great fun. Samuel L Jackson makes an excellent bad guy for the other characters to fight. I also loved the cute puppies and dogs. Lots of 'awws' from everyone when they were on screen
Thanks to those who warned about the scene before the credits!

Brilliant film 10 out of 10. Fast, funny with so many jibes at other films along with a great soundtrack. Brilliant final shoot out p*ying homage to the Sony exploding paint adds of a few years ago.
Good appreciative audience. About 50% full at Croydon Vue.

Was at the Edinburgh Omni Screening last night and it was almost full. As others say, it was a good tongue n cheek movie. Enjoyed all the main actors and was I the only one who googled afterwards to see if the female on the blades was a disabled actress... Not the case, but it shows how good the film tricks are. Lots of funny moments and happily was still in the cinema after the first credits ran so saw the extra scene. 7/10

Beate wrote:Piccadilly Circus had to turn people away. I noticed that nearly everyone of them had a coffee in their hands. Look folks, here's the thing: seats come first then you get your drink or snack. If you do it the other way round you really only have yourself to blame, especially with a popular film like this. Security told us from the start that it would be busy, and it was.
The film was bonkers mad and a lot of fun. I had to stuff my hand into my mouth not to giggle too loudly when Colin Firth started beating up the chavs at the beginning. Brilliant.
9/10
Not very charitable of you.

I didn't have a coffee. We weren't turned away but given free tickets to see a film of our choice that evening

I also have free tickets to see Kingmans next week

As much as I loved this film, Samuel Jackson got on my freggin nerves so freggin much.
I hated every scene with him, I really wanted to slap him up the side of the head so he'd talk and act properly >.<
That sort of character does not become him

Agreed, thought he was going to drop it and say it was intended to give others a false sense of superiority because it was so inconsistent.
Also thought Lancelot
should have joined the fight at the end. She could have overcome her fear of skydiving by navigating to the base from orbit, helped and be the one that confronted Thamuel Jackson. Instead the female agent who actually passed the training just got to stand around and make phone calls.

Totally brilliant! Huge grin throughout. Plenty of laughs. Wanted to cheer several times towards the end, and wouldn't have felt odd clapping at end.
Who'd have thunk that the gay brother from the WW1 film is the young cockney upstart. Lol. Great as he was I couldn't help thinking Jack O'Connell. Perhaps he was channeling Jack since Jack's been such a busy boy.
Slightly confused by Mark Strong's multi-dialect Scottish accent. Lol. He seemed to float from one region to another.
Knew I wanted to see this again well before it had even finished.
Great performances from Michael Caine and Colin Firth. Less impressed with Samuelel Jackson. Thought his character was a bit too pantomime dame.
Easily the best all-rounder film this year for me.
10/10

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)
Sometimes I sits and thinks....and sometimes I just sits.

It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. The last 30 minutes made it 6/10 otherwise it would have been 4/10.

I'm a fan of the comic but I've got to admit, this was significantly better. Vaughn and Goldman knocked it out of the park. Not just a fantastic popcorn flick but a very healthy dose (perhaps 'antidote' is more accurate) of social commentary.

Dreadful, truly dreadful. Completely humourless, unless you count swearing as humour these days, I swear all the effin time and no-one laughs! God knows what the accent of the lead sprog was - just annoying I thought. Another wooden Colin Firth role - he's the same twit in everything I've seen him in! As for the 'plot', well I could see everything coming a mile off. The only decent bit was the exploding heads! Pity really, as the reviews were very positive about this...........praise the lord it was free! 0/10
