Yeah, I'd suggest for anyone who wants to go to these screening (and lucky you being able to see films during the daytime...) it would be best to contact seefilmfirst directly and then they'll probably put your name aside for some tickets.

I don't think it will end up being absolutely necessary for you to write something about the film, but you can always tell them that you plan to put a comment onto some sites like this one after seeing the film.

Saw Precious at the Hyde Park Picture House screening in Leeds a couple of Sundays ago. Was pretty harrowing fare for an early Sunday morning viewing but couldn't help being won over by the strength of the performances. Liked the fact there was some light amid the shade with the classroom humour (insect / incest confusion in particular) and the dream sequences gave it an original touch. With (like almost all viewers) no knowledge of Harlem life in the 80s, I didn't know what to expect but I didn't feel I was watching a stereotyped, derogatory depiction of these people - just felt for Precious in a desperate situation and admired her courage.

Saw Precious this afternoon in Wimbledon. The screening was jam packed! Never seen a screening at 100% capacity.

Everyone was riveted by the film. Stunning performances and I'd definitely recommend this...never thought I would ever say that about a film with Mariah Carey in it! :D

Saw Precious today at Odeon Swiss Cottage,

The cinema was pretty much full!

I thought the film was great....the funny parts lightened up the film which I appreciate.

I loved the character Precious...I thought she was very sweet, after everything she went through she remained strong. Something to admire

Saw this at the Odeon Richmond Studio this afternoon. Obviously the cinema weren't too interested in our comfort as they didn't even bother to turn the lights on. So everyone was trying to get seated in near darkness (a slight exaggeration but still). As for the film, I'm usually pretty cynical about films that pile on the misery to such a depressing effect, but this was pretty powerful stuff. The performances definitely played a great part in that. Both Gabourey Sidibe and Mo'Nique were outstanding. And yes even Mariah Carey is good. The humour present in the classroom scenes were also incredibly welcome, undercutting the bleakness a little, so that it wasn't the completely depressing slog that it could have been. Definitely worth seeing.

Saw this last night, and WOW. Powerful stuff. Never seen such hatred of a child by her mother on screen before. Would recommend anyone who didn't get screening tickets to go and see it on Orange Wednesdays!

I saw this on Wednesday at the May Fair Hotel, thought it was excellent.

Some scenes leave you feeling like you've just been hit by a train, but nothing is over-sensationalised about it. I think the matter-of-fact way it tells the story is what makes it so watchable.

I was also very pleasantly surprised by the performances of Mariah Carey & Lenny Kravitz.

Top film.
