I second that! I'd gladly go watch the Inglourious Basterds over Adventureland if I had a clash. It doesn't matter for me since I've already watched Adventureland but it was nothing I'd want to go watch.....MariaLionza wrote:superhero wrote:yeah, but I just missed out on the 18th ones for Covent Garden...sorry
I wouldn't miss the basterds anyway, if you have tix for the 17th

Got tickets from Diane65 for this. Been looking forward to this one since seeing the trailer. Do you reckon I should get a change of name e-mail as I have a feeling the security maybe tight on this one.. or is it just me being paranoid?

Re: Inglourious Basterds
Maybe we should start a thread of original and convincing excuses for this eventuality? Someone (Beate?) recently mentioned another member coming up with an inventive reason. But you could presumably always rely on saying the original person has e-mailed the change of name info to SFF/Tellten etc and that the cinema should have been informed accordingly. Wouldn't work for Sky and Times screenings, though.

Re: Inglourious Basterds
It was hottips who was ID checked at WIQ, so she said the tickets were in her 12 year old son's name and she has no ID for him on her. Unfortunately you can only do that if you have a kid with you! I have just checked all my tickets and they are either in my own name, the OH's name or phunky's OH's name who should be around at the said screenings if need be. Not that I can remember more than 2 incidents in my preview career where I was properly ID checked. And even then I think they eventually let the folks without ID in.
Re: Inglourious Basterds
There shouldn't really be a problem, should there, even if tickets aren't in your name, because the point of free previews is to get word-of-mouth, so the more people who attend, the better. How could it possibly matter who they were, given that by turning up they have proved that they want to see the film? In fact, any cinema which turned people away would actually be acting against the interests of the organisers instead of promoting them. Individual identities could only really matter if too many people turned up, but that would be difficult to predict in advance and cinema staff would have to ID-check everyone from the outset, just in case - very time-consuming and labour-intensive.

Re: Inglourious Basterds
I think that's what they did with Bruno. They originally checked everyone's ID and those who didn't have the right one, were put in a corner. Eventually, nearer to 6.30pm, they were allowed in because there was still loads of seats available so no harm in letting them in especially since they had a ticket on them.
I guess it depends on the person you have. I was asked for Photo ID downstairs for Bruno (as the printout said so) but upstairs, the guy was more than happy with just a debit card!
