This kind of attitude that make the film company paranoid and implemented stricter rule and making harder for others!!!!mattgad wrote:The guy (and his family, young children) sat in front of me were talking and shouting the whole way through (and using the f word) and recording some of the dance scenes on his phone.

Step Up 3D
Pretty much a Streetdance 3D clone I thought (but with better dancing). Weak and largely predictable plot - Is there really only one thin plot shared amongst all the dance movies now?
I enjoyed watching the dancing, and Sharni Vinson who was a very attractive female lead. Nice to see NYC again as well - though it does seem to feature in so many movies I see these days!
Even though I thought the dancing in this was better than in Streetdance and I scored that as an 8 out of 10 - I can only bring myself to give this 4 out of 10 and I'm not sure why, as both plots were fairly lacklustre!!
Maybe it was sitting in that huge traffic jam on the way to Boldon and the 40 mile + round trip.

Re: Step Up 3D
Very weak story line but some great dancing!
I found it really hard to care about a lot of the pirates and so was not at all emotionally involved in this.
6/10 from me.

So sorry, prettyxcool! I didn't realise that you were waving at me to indicate that there was an empty seat close to you.prettyxcool wrote:Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue was packed! Not as easy as at Vue Islington to see and speak to FMUKers - seats too packed together. milkchocmonkey and hdaniel82 were sat in the back row and I sat in front of milkchocmonkey. When a_person turned up she sat next to my friends. I saw ucakpam and tried to wave to her as there was an empty seat in our row, but she had already walked to down to the front. And I think I waved to you tilly, were you two rows in front of my row but at the other end (it was dark!).
Did anyone else have problems watching the film with the 3D glasses? I was really struggling this time. I'm not sure if was due to the angle, the reflection on my specs or my lazy eye. I just couldn't see straight.
As for the film, I really enjoyed the dance moves. I like watching dance crews, surprisingly. Consequently, it didn't bother me too much that the story line was very weak. 7/10
Ah, I wish there were a UK version of "America's Best Dance Crew" on TV here.

Re: Step Up 3D
I think cineworld shaftesbury avenue was 100% full. I hope there weren't any fmukers turned away. They were asking for ID but not to sure how strict they were being on this and they didn't do a serious bag search or take our phones.
Seeing the main female lead, I'm even more convinced with my theory that these young home and away stars have a savvy agent with direct links to Hollywood. They all seem to be popping up in various American films.
I liked this film (would have been better with Channing!) but it was a fair follow-on from the first two films. Dancing was great but as others have said the storyline was very weak, even boring. 3D effects were also good. 6/10 - sorry but the storyline was too bad for me to score it any higher.

Re: Step Up 3D
I also had a bit of a problem with the 3D, particularly at the beginning (felt a bit blurry and gave me a bit of a headache) but I then got used to it. I usually love 3D and never have a problem. Was wondering if it was a problem with the screen or the glasses we were given (they seem like the cheap version, most of the time when I've seen 3D films I've been given the more sturdy type of glasses - not sure if this makes any significant difference).

No worries, as I said before, it was pretty dark in there, and by the time you arrived I had acclimatised!ucakpam wrote: So sorry, prettyxcool! I didn't realise that you were waving at me to indicate that there was an empty seat close to you.![]()

Yeah, I think my OH had problems too as he wore it on top of his own glasses and was complaining afterwards, and I think he wished he had never came after all. Glasses often give me a headache as they keep slipping off as I don't have a bridge, so not too fond of them, but this time I found a way to wear it comfortably and enjoy the 3D, so I almost forgot about them, once I got used to them.

Re: Step Up 3D
Thought this was a great film, saw it in cineworld in glasgow, rather packed hall! Only thing that ruined this film was the ushers doing the obligatory walk up and down the aisle/stairs from time to time.
8/10 for the film :)

Re: Step Up 3D
I saw this in Milton Keynes. On arrival, we were warned that the film may start (and so end) late if they could show it at all, as they were having problems with the projector. There were two security type people at the door of the cinema, and I expected to be searched, but they only asked that phones were switched off or put on silent.
As it happened, the film started on time, but we did not have any of the trailers as asked about in the Tellten questionnaire. I missed my London film friends, but met up with Chris525 who is doing a tour of cinemas in the South East. Was anyone else from FMUK there?
Our screening was about 80% full and I was not aware of them checking for people recording during the film. There were a lot of young children in the audience, and I was surprised at how good they were.
I like watching street dancing, but do not have any technical understanding. I could not work out why one person or group was according to the story better than the other when I felt that the exact opposite was true.
The 3D effects were really weird. In fact at time they were quite macabre - the elongated limbs and neck stretching towards the audience was grotesque. Perhaps they were experimenting with 3D effects for the next 3D horror film - have there been any yet?
Overall, I thought that the start of the film was quite good and so was the end – it was the section in the middle that was the problem. The story line was not strong enough to hold the dance sequences together and as a result, the whole film suffered.
