Re: Due Date

#51 Post by rjhempel » Mon Nov 01, 2010 2:17 pm

Was anyone intending to go tomorrow's showings? I ask, especially for those in London as the tube strike is on, what chances the strike won't affect the showings

Thanks

If we had a crystal ball to see which lines will be working and which stations will be closed...

Wasn't as great as I expected and I was somewhat disappointed with this. Certainly did have some funny moments but also some very crude ones too. Reminded me alot of the Hangover although I enjoyed that more. 6/10

Same here. Robert Downey Jr saved the film to some degree but some stuff was really crude or violent so didn't enjoy parts of it as much as others. Yes, I did laugh, but I was glad when it was over. Of course I also have a stinking cold which could cloud my judgement somewhat. I liked it better than The Hangover. Had a federal marshall, sorry, bouncer sit next to us with night goggles, didn't dare move throughout the film!

7/10 for the Downey Factor.

Had a good laugh this evening. Zac has great comedic talent and combined with Downey's straight faced part they really made it entertaining.

I got tickets for son in Nottingham (mothers are always thinking ahead) and he says

Due Date was good but not as good as The Hangover but kept me entertained for most of the 90 minutes. Zach Galifianakis was very funny.

Cineworld, Edinburgh was full tonight. My expectations too high I think as I was quite disappointed in this. There were funny moments and the audience were laughing but not nearly as good as The Hangover. 7 out of 10.

Have to agree with most of what has already been said. Quite disappointed and I agree that The Hangover was better. A few laugh out loud moments but all the random moments that should have been hilarious didn't quite gel together (as with The Hangover). I was particularly underwhelmed by Jamie Fox's appearance.

Robert Downey Jnr was great though. I'd say that it just scrapes a 7/10 for me, which is not bad but I was expecting it to be a lot better than it was.
