Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I really hope so as they've done a fair few Old Vic productions before, but I think it's selling pretty well at the moment so no need for it yet.

I've been in the cheaper seats at the Old Vic, back when I actually pa*d for all theatre I saw (lol) and they had fine view too. Just bring binoculars if you have them.

I saw (+ enjoyed) Kiss Me Kate at Chichester in the summer and even with the train fare, it was still relatively cheap as the main house has some decent, relatively low-priced side stalls seats.
And another not-free-but-quite-cheap show: finally caught Loserville yesterday. Shame the audience was so small, but the cast played as if to a packed house.

I saw Loserville again myself yesterday! I heard the matinee was pretty empty, but the evening was actually reosnably full (stalls very full, dress circle about 75% full). Really enjoyed it a second time too, wish more people would check it out.Ms Thrifty wrote:I saw (+ enjoyed) Kiss Me Kate at Chichester in the summer and even with the train fare, it was still relatively cheap as the main house has some decent, relatively low-priced side stalls seats.

Finally got to see Chariots of Fire at the Geilgud Theatre yesterday. Absolutely brilliant production that I strongly recommend.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Saw 'The Murder Before Christmas' at the Old Red Lion tonight, and really enjoyed it. The piece was in the same vein as 'Noises Off', a simple farce with a minimal set, but the show really relied on the excellent timing of the actors. The audience really loved it and at just over an hour long, it was a perfect little play that didn't require much concentration, but delivered loads of laughs and gasps from the audience. If you like this sort of slapstick farce, then it is definitely worth seeing. 8.5/10
