Have just remembered first appointment with GP about this was in October so want to get GP to write a note about it - of course he isn't in the practice today. Typical.
Ok... let's rephrase, your OH!

My colleague said he was summoned to court and had to p*y a fine and received penalty points with it. Not sure why they are summoning you to court anyway. What a waste of money! They should just send a flippin' reminder and ask him to visit with the licence and then add it on. All this court business sounds rubbish...
I completely agree, that was my first thought - why didn't they just send a reminder! You don't have to attend on the day, you can plead guilty by post and fill in a few forms but still.

aruif wrote: yeah that all makes sense. but i kind of chose where i was going to live based on the fact i had a garage with the flat to avoid those pesky parking charges. i like the freedom driving has too i guess. if i want to go somewhere at 2am, say tesco, then i can, and i'm safe. also if i decide to go to manchester tomorrow rather than having known about it 6 weeks in advance i'm not going to p*y £70 more to get there. i guess it depends on your lifestyle, but i'm a kind of run off here and there kind of person.

I would never use public transport to go to Tesco at 2am either! I didn't think anyone would unless they live on top or next door to one! Does public transport even run then? :shifty: Infact, one of the main reasons I have a car is for shopping purposes. I do alot of shopping and fat little me, just can't cope with the weight of myself plus shopping bags plus the numerous stairs you need to climb in the stations near to me which is why I got a car. Also, my parents are getting old now and I don't like them using public transport for long journeys. I prefer to drive them there. And for my trips outside of London. Most of all, like you, I like blaring my music and also because I like to sit on a seat. I hate standing.

I wish I had the luxury of being able to use my car when and how I please. Perhaps if I get the opportunity to move out of London or somewhere where parking is more open, I'd become dependant on a car too. Unfortunately, at present, it's not feasible for me to do that.

And here we have David Cameron, wondering how and when we could save money. :tears:

Same here tilly. It annoys me more as it's not their money. It belongs to the public though. My manager's side kick takes advantage of our funds really badly and it makes me want to break his leg. Ask him for money for a public event and he gets his d**k in a knot. Nobody properly checks though. Frustrates me so much.

I work in the NHS and I see people taking advantage of the system every day. It's no wonder the NHS is in so much debt!

20 years ago there is no way people would expect to get free prescriptions for sun cream.
