Tired of the same old boring office party? Then let yourself be entertained by legendary cabaret artists Ursula Martinez (La Clique, La Soirée) and Christopher Green (Tina C, Ida Barr) as they invite you to their very own scandalous Office Party. After sell-out runs at the Barbican Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe, the show that’s a party is back! Martinez and Green, who collaborated together in the Olivier-Award winning C’est Duckie!, bring you an experiential theatrical extravaganza which features a veritable smorgasbord of stand-up comedians, and stupendously brilliant avant-garde performers.
Whatever your profession; doctor or digger, taxidermist or taxi driver, take a journey around our purpose-built office where the fun will be waiting for you.

Get ready for the most wonderfully experimental party on offer! There will be possible professional embarrassment, but don’t worry, what happens at the office party, stays at the office party! Anything could happen, and it probably will….

In Traces of the Trade, Producer/Director Katrina Browne tells the story of her forefathers, the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. The film follows Browne and nine fellow family members on a remarkable journey which brings them face-to-face with the history and legacy of New England’s hidden enterprise.

From 1769 to 1820, DeWolf fathers, sons and grandsons trafficked in human beings. They sailed their ships from Bristol, Rhode Island to West Africa with rum to trade for African men, women and children. Over the generations, the family transported more than ten thousand enslaved Africans across the Middle Passage. They amassed an enormous fortune. By the end of his life, James DeWolf had been a U.S. Senator and was reportedly the second richest man in the United States.

The DeWolf descendants are confronted with dramatize questions: What, concretely, is the legacy of slavery—for diverse whites, for diverse blacks, for diverse others? Who owes who what for the sins of the fathers? What history do we inherit as individuals and as citizens? What would repair—spiritual and material—really look like and what would it take? Secured with the kind assistance of Africa in the Picture, Amsterdam. The Story of Maggie Walker (European Premier)

In spite of humble beginnings in post-Civil War Richmond, Virginia, Maggie Lena Walker achieved national prominence as a businesswoman and community leader. Her business acumen, personality, and lifelong commitment to society fuelled her climb to success. She was the first woman in the United States to found a bank. As a leader her successes and vision offered tangible improvements in the way of life for African Americans and women.

Ancestral Wanderings

A series of four of Jamaican born artist Fowokan's wanderings or word resonance as he calls his poems. The poems were selected to capture his journey, influences and awakening as an artist: his boyhood days in the Crown Colony hands of Jamaica in the 1940s; his foray into making things with his hands to his decision to become a sculptor after encountering the Benin bronzes on a trip to Nigeria. He later took to the video camcorder and began producing short videos. Shango Baku, the Shakespearean actor brings life to the words of Fowokan's Wanderings, powerfully illustrating over 60 years of Fowokan's development.

Patrick Monahan
Venue: Leicester Square Storm
Date: 17th October

Patrick started off on the glamorous Irish/Iranian/Geordie stand-up circuit where he developed his warm, friendly, lively story telling style.
He is a comedy festival regular and has performed his solo shows in cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester and Manchester and also at most major venues throughout the UK, year round.

He's always performed shows across the globe from the West of Ireland to the Middle-East, Qatar, Dubai, as well as across most of Europe, including Luxembourg, Germany, Brussels, France, Greece and Monaco.

He has appeared on numerous Television shows from BBC1, 2, 3 to ITV1 and 2, C4, Channel 5, Sky 1 and UKTV, as a presenter, guest interviewee, panel member and performer. Currently much sought after as a regular TV & studio warm up - on shows such as: BBC 1's Bafta award winning 'Friday Night Jonathan Ross', "The Catherine Tate Show", and "The Kumars at No.42".

Monahan's humour travels well. He not only engages the audience with charming banter about local affairs and universal issues, but also combines animated story telling style that draws on his own experiences of growing up in Teesside, (North East of England) of Irish and Iranian Parentage! A comedian with truly global appeal or as the Daily Telegraph puts it, "a one man ethnic melting pot, a star in the making"
